Cutting down your sub is the way to express it also :p
hah that is something I will consider only once the game has truly nothing left for me to enjoy, I might get upset about the state of healers (or just battle jobs in general) but there are still things outside of that I enjoy enough to stay subbed, for now at least.
The first reason I had to change my job back to SCH since 2021 was to check is there was a bit of lore bonus during OC story cut-scenes.
There was of course, nothing at all. Shouldn't have bothered, was only setting myself up for disappointment.
Hey, at least inside the easiest role to play is... oh, it's tank again
Add to that the tank weapons are way better quality and design than the healers one that are lalafell trolling item for the most part...
When you see the level of details and the quality and the ammount of time spent on the gunbreaker's blade.
Then you get to check a the sage weapons that are little plastic rocket toys...
I guess the disrespect never ends when it comes to SQE and healers.
Even on the weapon design they don't give a shit.
I think the only fun I had in recent times is herding and solo healing an 8-man gold farming in Occult Crescent.
I was disappointed too when my WoL was given no dialogue choice of anything related to his SCH questline despite the existence of the Archive & Iris. I guess we -are- just an accessory lol.
I also noticed with some disappointment that the SCH story is non-canon but I guess that would have thrown a spanner in their story. Then again, the WoL has never been a healer so I guess it follows.
Tank in need btw

Obligatory post again about Esuna. For the most part, it's pretty useless again in OC. The only CEs where it could be used are Creeping Death and Calamity Unbound and even then it wouldn't be great to use. For one if you,re a bard that uses warden's paean before it, it stops both the dot and completely negates the aoe going off on you. Two, if you're using Geomancer, you don't want the dot removed cause each tick gives you stacks.
So far, the only place where it is required would is Forked tower in the rooms before the final boss and that is only one room which could easily be covered by a bard if need be.
Edit: I only bring this up because the role quests. They made such a big deal out of it during it but it just looks like " Here remember that you have this!"
Fell to the third page?
NOT on my watch.
SE PR strategy : players complain about bad content/direction -> ignore it and publish more bad/flawed content to bury the previous complaints -> repeat -> profit ?
Pokopanga bump. I'm almost a full year late to note my name here cause I have only been read-only + unsubbed for most of the time ever since around 6.4 ... All the sadness be on the healers as well as the jobs who get butchered similarly in recent times (Ripperonica in pepperoni pizza, BLM)
I know we don't actually have any open of things changing, but it'd be nice. Tbh, I maintain the best path forward would be to not release new classes, races, or up the level cap, and take the time to totally rework how the classes work, when they get abilities, and even the fights. Healers in the space they are is just a symptom of much larger design decisions, like being SO bound by the 2 minute window.
Maybe to break all the forked tower talk, healers are going to be looking pretty bored for patch 7.3 with only week 1 alliance to keep them company for a bit and watch whm and sge get a 10 potency buff to the nuke or 5 potency to the dot ot both.
Turns out today we learned why they haven't addressed healers.
They can't even afford a normal mode.
Is 'sorry, but the cost' going to be the latest 'don't you guys have phones'
^has it been two months already
Ah yes the classic "healer shouldn't be allowed to enjoy the game unless they go sweaty tryhard mode"-reasoning.
Don't even try to sugarcoat it. Just rip the bandage off. So we actually got something to heal. :P
Is this still a thing? Why?
Given the topic of this thread... I might have more interest in healing "high-end" content if it didn't seem to consist of, "lol, someone stood in the wrong spot, so now they're dead, and maybe also a few other party members."
I know where my rez button is. Maybe I want something other to do than plan for infrequently scheduled raid-wides?
Actually now that I think about it, the line of thinking of “just do high end to enjoy lol” scarily rhymes with the devs’ recent decision to pick ‘extreme/savage FTB’ over ‘casual/normal FTB’ in Occult Crescent.
It’s no surprise they’re attracting same type players who thinks ‘high ends’ is the answer of how to ‘have fun’ lol.
People always seem to miss with “go play high end content” that enjoying the act of doing an encounter is split into two parts
1) the encounter itself
2) the job you play
“lol go play savage” does nothing to fix the former it basically just says you can kinda mask it with the latter. Playing a healer in savage isn’t making the healer design shine, it’s hiding the fact that healers are barely functional messes behind the encounter design
I wouldnt even bother with that poster, literally nobody else cares about the number of threads on any specific topic. The front page gets taken up by forked tower because that's just the hot topic right now. When that dies down, the evergreen topics will move up again. In short: a completely normal forum progression.
Realistically because all the original complaints about non engaging healer gameplay still remain unchanged. That and I agree that you shouldn't have to run an ultimate to feel like your class has any weight to the party. Like don't get me wrong I play wow. An overgeared tank makes healers not have to do literally any healing in that game too. But at least in wow I have an engaging enough dps toolkit to vibe on during the fights. We even have classes like discipline priest which just have a dps rotation and heal based off the damage we deal. The game could benefit from fewer shorter cd ogcd heals and more of an actual dps presence so people weren't bored out of their mind spamming 1 while the tank does everything.
