All I have to say is that I am extremely sad about my favorite class and I feel like quitting the game. They managed to "fix" lilies generation, but Confession is still an un-fun mess and the cooldown reduction for 1 lily does nothing but trigger my OCD - seriously, why is it not 5% at least? WHY FOUR? Another problem is that Divine Benison still consumes ALL lilies. Making it 15% doesn't help, SE!

I am really really sad about these changes. I expected a lot more from a dev team that saved a game.

We did lose one gcd off of Thin Air though :(.... damn

RIPPPPP TO MY 6 CURE II opener!!! You can only get lilies while in combat :(

50% chance of lilies with cure 1 and 100% of lilies with cure II ....... (personal still wish lily system gave us our bonus up front rather than in a recast)

Eh, we'll see. 2 days, and I am starting to think it's NOT the Apocalypse for WHM.

Although I'm not a huge fan of CDR in fights where you plan to execute specific abilities at set times (i.e. raids in general...), I'm going to hold my tongue for a bit and see how it works in practice.

I do question why Benison has to wipe all Lilies, though. Generating Lilies when healing is required definitely looks less onerous now, but having Benison require just one while consuming all makes me itch.

Now that I'm surprised. I mean, come on. Did people really expect things to change that fast?

So of all the things they could have focused on reworking, like the Confession system; they decided they might as well go and slightly nerf Stone IV since that was clearly a huge elephant in the room for them that needed addressing...
I'm not one for hyperbole, but if you think many of the WHM players should "calm down" in light of these "changes", I have lost much faith in you Yoshi.

So you telling us.... you used current stoneskin more than once every 30 sec nominally and OPTIMALLY?? You sure you can't see any differences? Or you don't care to see any difference???

I think they will actually nerf Bension..... it's already too OP in a nominal situation....

every 29 secs you cast ONE cure II you'll also instantly get a 15% shield if u want... look by a few pages bk for the calculations but basically on a tank you'd be getting one GCD for 700+436 effective potency where the 436 is a shield; still 1136 total potency GCD (2.4 sec + 0.5 sec) which is stronger than a 21 sec regen (1050 total potency over time). This makes over healing with this instant Cure II + benison every 30 sec less likely.

However regen still offers more potency/mp (regen 1.699 pot/mp cure II+bension [on a tank] 1.26 pot/mp). Nevertheless you have to now fact in the likelihood of getting a confession every 30 sec off one 1 cure II?

So a new E3 article has been posted where Yoshida states:

"But yeah if you’re just looking strictly at the actions, it’s very misleading. You still need to look at what your max MP is going to be, and how much MP you’re depleting using some of these actions. That will affect your DPS per your allocated time while you’re still healing."

We've been told that the strength of WHM is no longer healing output (that lies with AST now more than ever given Earthly Star), is not shielding and mitigation (SCH wins there), is not damage utility (AST and SCH both are miles ahead of WHM), but rather..

WHM's strength is MP efficiency! Yay! That's just wonderful! I'm sure WHM will be welcome in groups that don't have a BRD, MCH, RDM, SMN, BLM right? Seriously. Who needs personal MP efficiency when 5 or 6 classes (if you count AST), can freely regenerate MP for party members!

Even AST could waste half of their cards on personal Ewers and STILL bring more to a party than WHM at this point. :(

Don't worry guys, I'm sure that's an old build used for demonstration. We have plenty of time to completely change the horrible mechanics. Right? ... right? RIGHT?!?! *Holds Yoshi-P body pillow*

we will see..we will see. i'm not going to say i'm going to unsub, but my disappointment overall in the game will reflect how much time i actually spend on FFXIV and what services I get. this isn't any sort of being mean, i see no reason to buy 6 extra retainers if i'm not...on the game. it seems like a waste of money.

I will wait it out. i will see how it goes...but i'm honestly going to say that while i'd been hopeful before, i'm going in with no hopes and dreams of anything. everything that i've seen so far, from Media release to E3 release has been lacking for many things.

exaggeration.... RDM will not share his MP with you....
AST's total Balance contribution isn't miles ahead of WHM; look up the parses they're offering 400-650 additional raid dps. Those are BIG NUMBERS!!! But the vassssssssttt majority of healers are NOT dpsing ENOUGH to where their total dps will take advantage of that 400-650 additional raid dps---simply put if your personal healing dps isn't higher than 400-650 dps you're not optimizing the dps advantage AST offers your party......... And MP management CURRENTLY is a common, extremely common issue, and BRD/MCH MP regen mechs actually got NERFED!! (from a max of 1min 45sec up time per 3min down to 30 sec per 3 min and they can no longer stack since its the same cross-class ability).

So really it all depends on the content! If the content demands a ton of MP usage, those that manage their MP the best will be the ones with he highest dps. And we seem to be brushing over the FACTS that the majority of healer DON'T dps in dungeon....what makes you think the majority of them dps in raids???

(more technical response) If you're personal healer dps isn't accounting for 3-5% of the total dps the whole raid is providing then you're not taking advantage of the DPS utilities that AST offers. Which means you're just pushing extra buttons per minute to do what a simpler healer can offer the party thru personal dps (and less button mashing). And let's not pretend even in current content with SCH's crit utility, that a SCH would net the party 3-5% raid dps....be serious.
