Ashburn, San Jose, and Sacramento NTT nodes have been having issues for over 5 years. Its just getting worse.
WoW uses Comcast nodes that don't appear to have the same issues as NTT nodes. VPN/Cloudflare WARP helps because you can reduce the amount of problematic nodes that your traffic goes through down to one - the Sacramento NTT node where the FFXIV servers are located. FFXIV is the only game that I've had to use a VPN for because of horrific NTT node packet loss.
Wouldn't be surprised if Square-Enix had just used the cheapest server option available to them at the time.

The Heavyweight Savage race is going to be wild if NA is blocked out by server issues.
And I still think we should absolutely not let the higher up devs catch a break on the server issues if this is still a problem by NA fanfest.

I find it difficult to believe a multi-million dollar company is incapable of solving this issue for more than a year. To those who are not on the NA datacenters, the regularity is once a week or twice a week for the last year, however since the holidays it has happened 2-5 times per week in the last 3 weeks.
I believe it is unacceptable that no official or further communication has been made by Square Enix or the development team or operations team for the game. I believe the savage raid tier and patch should be pushed back and not released until this can be resolved, because the world race for this tier will be ruined and unfair if only the NA datacenter is being DDOS'ed. Or, perhaps, YoshiP/ Development team can forcibly crash the other datacenters simultaneously every time the NA datacenter experiences a DDOS event to ensure all teams going for a world first race of the savage tier can be on equal playing field. When will SE announce legal action taken against parties that continue to DDOS the NA server? when will SE change the datacenter(s) or ISP(s) our traffic runs through? I understand it may be expensive, but if SE cannot weather the storm and correct the perception of their skill or ability by merit / actions then they are going to continue to lose players....most of my FC has stepped back from the game due to gameplay loops and content being very stale, but for those of us who remain, the constant DDOS and the demonstrated inability of SE to solve this problem or even release a statement apologizing or providing pro-rated reimbursements for gametime lost due to this, is a situation that cannot continue.
Please, please address this issue publicly with what SE plans to do about this continued issue and why it has not found any meaningful solution for a year!

I'm getting so sick of this. Thankfully I wasn't even crafting or in a duty, but I'm not looking forward to raiding with my static next weekend if this keeps happening, especially if myself and my static get disconnected and we have to waste time getting through the queue just to get back in.

What's the point of even playing this game anymore with these regular kicks?

SE is never going to fix this.
They don't care.
Find another game. This one is circling the drain.
