Ban premade parties in Frontline please

Re: Sparta vs Persia, there are many in France still struggling with Agincourt. But that was a rather different situation to Frontline. More mud, for example.

No, the problem is not that we were coordinated, but that the randoms were uncoordinated and easy to bait.

Any good player could see what we were doing, and would know not to clump up. Instead because most people on NA play the game like it's toddler soccer, they dog pile the first thing they see and get hit with 60k in AOE burst.

This is not a problem. This is skill and awareness winning over numbers. If every fight was decided by who has more players, that would be boring.

Sure there are certainly humorous moments. Praetorium can bring out funny discussions simply because of the cut scenes. But as you say, such occasions these days are few and far between.

As a follow up, this is why the "premades are bad" argument falls flat every time. Go to any queue sync where good players meet up, and the whole game changes.

Premade groups only dominate because the majority of Frontline is filled with roulette tourists who just aren't that good at the game.

Stop looking for someone else to blame.

not my experience. of course there are quiet matches. but plenty too where there is chat around what objective, who to target/pinch. less on NA maybe. but not that much off OCE. i feel like a lot of people just sit back and dont say anything, cause they have that preconceived notion. obviously yea, if there is a cmdr, less so. especially if they are a decent one. but if you see something, say something - pinch opportunity, danger, target objective, whatever. dont wait for someone else to speak up. and your voice might be the one that sparks the alliance

Look, I'm certainly not blaming you and your friends for using your undoubted skill to dominate a larger group of randos. But THE problem is that people of your skill, force multiplied by coordinating, wipe out randos. That isn't your fault, but the net result when such a premade with a shotcaller is on the field is boring matches. You may get a buzz out of the pffft-pffft-pffft, but even for skilled (solo) players it creates crappy matches.

And THE solution is to stop placing players of massive skill disparities (or those that avoid PvP like it causes herpes) on the same field.

I'd add that I think 5-10% of NA players should be banned from FL for persistent lethargic play.

Honestly, adding Dynamis was a dumb decision. Idk why they added a new datacenter without implementing cross-datacenter queuing right after. Everyone in Dynamis shouldn't have to put up with that BS. They should give out free data center transfers at the very least.

The hroth/viera hats aren't rocket science and SE definitely knows it. They're just not willing to spend extra development costs to manually adjust headwear gears (billion dollar company looking to cut costs, who knew).

To answer the question if they'll implement any of those: maybe for the cross datacenter queuing, but I don't see it happening until 8.0 at the very least. The headwear gear is never going to happen since they only gave lip service to quell a minority. Unless it causes a large dip in their shareholders' profits, then none of these will be a priority.

FFXIV really did have a welcoming and thriving community nearly a decade ago. I can definitely attest to that from personal experience before the perfect shitstorm, that was ShB, kick-started it's eventual decay. I've made so many fantastic memories back in HW and SB. I'm super critical about the game now, but I really was an avid and passionate player of this game until they screwed over healers in pve.

It sounds like we need skill-based matchmaking for premades in Frontlines, then.

Premades arent the problem. There are actually strategies to counter different styles of play.
The problem is players not bothering to try/learn, and/or sitting there and taking it for free without adjusting.
If I want to play with a few of my friends, that's ok.

You put yourself above every other FF14 Frontliner
Your "truth" is just something in that pocket world of Light DC, it does not represent overall FF14 Frontliine
Chinese, Japanese, Koreans all have different PvP ecosystem that do not requires a "ban" on premade
