Tbf, 14 isn’t any better in this regard overall. If you look at the official job mascot artwork, only the males are tanks and the females are healers. They still haven’t changed that with sage or gun breaker lol.

Lemme guess you joined after quitting WoW and only do Savage Pandamoneum raids (before did Savage Eden) and never do roulette (which includes all 83 dungeons, 12 allied raids, like 70ishish trials, like 48ish raid bosses), don't do Manderville, never do any of the side jobs, don't do hunts, have never visited housing, have never done maps, don't do FATEs, never did Alliance Raids more than once. And then you complain that there's "nothing to do at endgame" because the devs don't timegate everything ever and don't make the game a second job to cater to your elitist tastes. Have fun in Lost Ark. Enjoy the entire endgame of farming mats on your main + 6 alts just to hope you the RNG items (which are daily capped how many you can get) give you the right stats to upgrade your main all while spamming an ad for the cash shop to just skip the RNG. Enjoy getting kicked from groups for making minor mistakes and groups disbanding after one wipe. Seriously dude. XIV is not made for elitist raiders who just want the devs to make WoW type raids for them.

Literally the only people I ever meet in game who complain about FFXIV not having endgame are people who brag about being in one of the top raiding guilds on their WoW server or whatever other MMO they fled because it's actually bad.

Geez it sounds a whole lot like you cant handle the idea of someones opinion conflicting with yours. Different mmo's offer different things. 14's endgame *is* incredibly sparse in comparison to other mmo's. I do find it a bit ironic when people try to say the devs care about wasting peoples time when they time and time again do things in a way to waste the players' time. Just look at the way housing works.You're clicking on a placard for hours on end doing nothing else if you really want a house. I've literally done all you've said and more (on my main which you can easily find in my FC before you look me up): I've cleared HoH solo, play Frontlines and got t100 in Feast, finished Delubrum Savage, crafted for the world second team this Savage tier.

The endgame of FF14 is sparse to anyone who has played this game for a while.

It's beyond moronic to question people who complain about FF14 not having content, supposing that they have not done any content.

You can quite literally be and do anything you want in this game. The mascot of a job is irrelevant when the reality is that once you make a character-you are free. That is why I'm over here and not playing BDO or Lost Ark, and why I ended up favouring FFXI over nonsense like Perfect World or Tera.

I will concede that the addition of gender-locked races was the lowest point in this game's history for me right after the introduction of limited jobs. How they even entertained that idea is bewildering, and the humongous disparity between the quality of Hrothgar vs Viera completely leaned in favor of females and left the men out in the rain. Thankfully they have corrected this and gave us a male model that nearly eclipsed male miqote in their popularity, hopefully female Hrothgar turn out to be great as well.

Thats perfectly fine, im just saying though, genderlocks exist in this game as well, and so does the whole "males tank and females heal" stereotype. Im seeing a lot of people in this thread point out problems in lost ark that also apply in this game as well.Also sadly you cant be anything you want in this game. Cant be a female hrothgar :p

I will say this. Lost Ark has awesome combat, and its dungeons and raids look cool in terms of style/aesthetics etc. However, it's dungeons and raids are literally the ONLY THING to do in the game lmao. It's a raid centric MMO. And the raids get locked behind the RNG mechanics that are designed to eventually frustrate you into paying to progress.

I guess it only feels sparse if the only thing you do in life is your wagejob/school and FFXIV / videogames in general.

Those things take about a hundred hours or more to do. If hundreds of hours of gameplay is "sparse" to you, then please. Listen to this suggestion dude. Go outside, go stand in a field....good. Now take off your shoes, plant your feet firmly on the ground and TOUCH GRASS!

LMAO, and the typical retort that one must be no-lifing to achieve all these has come out. I have a fantastic life, I hike, cook, and go to bars with my friends and I'm doing very well in my academic career, thanks for asking.

You don't need to be a NEET to do any of what I said. HoH solo took me 20 hours. Crafting for world prog takes like... literally 2 hours? Getting t100 in Feast took the longest which was about 40-60 hours, since I was new to Feast. I was done with Delubrum Savage in 12 hours (pre-nerf). This Savage tier I cleared it in 20 hours too.

Now a tier lasts 3 months and 100 hours over 3 months is not a lot at all.

By the way if you have to resort to random assumptions that someone hasn't done all content, or to argue that someone has no life, you probably already lost the argument.

In comparison to what exactly? I've played many MMOs throughout the years and hard-disagree unless by "content" you mean hardcore Korean RNG grind "endgame" - in which case you would be right.

This game's endgame is no more sparse than anything else out there. Sometimes you run out of things to do, and that's true for all games. You can unsub any time.

Out of curiosity I decided to give it a go. I'll be honest, Path of Exile is probably a better free option for this sort of thing.

If you like PoE then you really need to do yourself a favor and play Grim Dawn. The only thing I wish GD had that PoE has is the not ff7 style materia system. Augmenting your skills and spells with various effects is so much fun.
