White Mage vs Scholar - Why is White Mage lacking?

Raising level caps wasn't really a strong point of theirs though =(

WHM is lacking to SCH? Try going SCH with an overconfident tank, speed-running everything with not enough HP and no buffs popped. SCH in speed-run?

SCHs are still equally easy to speed run with, but I do enjoy switching to WHM once in a whole just to blow up a dungeon with my disco stylings.

Eh, SCH are fine on the healing side for speed runs, it just get's tricky trying to get some DPS in there if the pulls are particularly large. Holy's stun element is a godsend at times <3

Well, even if the scholar has it harder to get some DPS out on large pulls, it's note entirely impossible. I actually crossclassed Blizzard II for this (lol)

Whatever Scholar can't shave off time-wise in speedruns, they can make it up easily on the boss encounters. If anything, it's a typical either this-or-that pick.

well, as i only played the whm so far, i tanked with sch and whm in several dungeons. i dont see the whm lacking in any way. neither do the sch.

i raid i just love to heal in combo with a sch as both classes just complete each other so well. (Adlo+whm-stoneskin=happy tank; succor+sacredsoil+medica2+medica=there were AOEdamage?)

in fights where tank and raid gets high damage at the same time you can just work perfect: sch, dont care for the group, mak just sure the tank dont die, while i spam AoE-heal.

same goes for dps situations. while the sch have a way longer breath dealing damage is the burst damage of the whm(and AoE) kinda superior and we dont have to change the fairy to go full dps, just activate clericstance and maybe add presence of mind if needed and -> BOOM

tl;dr imho both healer classes are well balanced and have both the own special task and have a high synergy together.

Wow... I would hate to be the responsible party for this threads life support bill, because I'm sure the balance due would be unaffordable.

I'd have pulled the plug long ago...

This thread will shamble on until Astrologian comes, at which point one or more threads will take its place depending on which way the balance see-saw teeters at launch.
