Best Gear in Coil needs to end

I know it's probably not typical of statics, but mine goes on changing days based on people's schedules. We generally ask people every week what days work for them and plan our schedules around that. We aren't the most hardcore static, but we managed to down Twin before the Echo buff went in so I'd consider us decent. Statics like you're talking about exist, possibly not the easiest thing to find, but they do exist.

You do need some i110 gear to clear coil and that's why the gear exists. I'm assuming you haven't gotten very far in the new coil. You do NEED a certain amount of vit and DPS to clear t9. T8 and t9 have very high requirements. Also tank rings are meant for tank. Not sure what you're talking about. Just because a ring can be equipped by another class doesn't mean it's meant for all classes. No wonder you haven't cleared t9; you don't even know the basics.

ilevel 110 gear is for the next raid tier as well

You need DPS & Vit:

DPS - you do probably need some i110 weapons for your DPS (assuming that there's no room for improvement on anyone's current strategy)

Vit - wear tank jewelry that isn't i110

These are solutions that exist in game to clearing the content without the need to wear a whole lot of i110 gear.

One argument that gets thrown around a lot in this discussion (and the one I was specifically responding to), was that you don't need i110 gear outside of coil, but you do need it for coil. IE no one else should get i110 gear except coil 2 raiders because no one else needs it.

The point is that, according to everyone that's managed to complete coil, it doesn't really seem like you NEED it either. Now, as a healer or whatever, you may not *like* wearing tank jewelry to pass the VIT checks, but that certainly doesn't mean you need the i110 gear just because you feel all butt hurt you can't do the content in your fancy healer/dps rings.

And thus the argument that you need this gear to do coil (especially all 12-13 slots worth of it) would be wrong. You just need the weapons, the rest just makes it easier. Kind of like wearing i110 gear for primals or twintana or whatever makes that easier too.

That comes a little arrogant, because both healers of BG re-spec some or all of their MND into VIT and they did wear VIT rings to cross the 5k HP mark. You mean that team doesn't know the basics but managed to claim world first?

Well people would rather not lose main stat points. When i beat turn 9 I had less mind than healers that had never been in coil even though i had 3 pieces of i110 gear. The point I'm making is the developers never intended people to beat the content at the gear level some did. I mainly see the i110 gear as preparing us for next coil because we'll definitely be needing it. What's your point anyway? Are you arguing that people who don't do coil should get the gear?

What are you talking about? I'm saying HE doesn't know the basics. Obviously BG knew what they were doing. BG used the tank rings to get the vit they wanted. Good job on completely misinterpreting what I said. Their WHM actually their WHM was kinda scrubby; we didn't even need to lustrate or tank swapping for Bahamut's Claw. They're still much better than average players clearly. Not much difference in skill at that level. All about theorycrafting.
