Was leveling my Bard so I wasn’t on heals this time I queue for Dusk Vigil and as soon as it starts the healer is like I am drunk… We wipe to the first trash they forget to reprotect everyone they continued to go on about drinking their beer. After one of the boss fights they just stand there for a few minutes they didn’t say anything that they had to brb or anything they come back and say sorry I found a egg roll and it was delicious (found where idk nor do I think I want to) they spammed regen the whole fight and even put it on the tank before pulls. We got through but it was a long run as it was a BRD and MCH for dps

DFed into Bismark EX (because after all this time and several clear parties later, there were never enough DPS to actually clear it or tanks fallign off, etc -___-)...
At the first Bismark landing, people jump off way prematurely, and left the rest of us to flail in vain to try to DPS it down without them. No dice, got thrown... might as well. People were claiming they had 2 stacks, therefore had to jump off.
I instruct, "For the first phase, do not jump off - don't worry about stacks for this first part - only worry about stacks the second time we have to jump on his back. Stay on until it dies".

We go again. Reach that part where Bismark is pulled alongside the island... DS + SC + Medica II.... + Asylum to assuage some of their fears. PoM'ed and DPSed away.
They jumped off. Wipe. Lets go again.
I repeat, do NOT jump off. Ignore stacks. You will be safely tossed back onto the island when the Chiton goes down.
They jumped off. Again.

I don't know what I was expecting, from DF.

I was running A4N (yeah, yeah, I know) the other day and had the most *delightful* healer to work with. Most of the healers in there are fairly meh .. or just downright awful (but there's quite a few good ones, don't get me wrong).

Anyway, the healer would nuke themselves on mechanics and basically stay dead for most of the fight. I ended up raising him about three times after I just called it quits so I wouldn't run out of MP. To make matters worse, we nearly wiped and I had to pop a lv3 Limit Break.

The run was satisfying and I walked away with the better half of the commendations, but still .. I was already in a bad mood and that just made it worse.

24-man Seal today.

This tank is off by himself attacking a SMN, he's dropping into the triple didgets. He seems to be falling back so I haul my ass to meet up with him. He's on a mount, the SMN is backing off, I only have one instant heal so I throw him a Tetra. He's at about 40% HP now. I start casting Cure II and this guy turns around. Cure II canceled. Wth. Can't catch up to him while he's on his mount, Sprint is on CD from running to him. He tries to kill this SMN at 75% HP. Gets one-shot by a Deathflare before I've even caught up with him.

Some new horror stories I ended up being a part of :

I was on my drk and decided to pop a lvl 50 roulette for some poetics.
Ended up in Halatali HM, it'll be fast I was telling myself.
Well, it went really fast, the healer was in cleric stance at the start of the dungeon.
I told him before starting because I tought he probably just forgot, no answer.
I'm more insistant, nothing, so I start and pull the 2 packs near the entrance because I told myself that he will probably start holying and that was why he kept the cleric... but nope.
He started spamming me with cure III over and over for a meager 250 hp, while I was still shooting "cleric stance, cleric stance", but nothing, and even with all my cd, I ended up dying and we all wiped.
I only realized he was german and maybe not understanding english just before he left after our wipe. I also left just after that because it was just too weird for my taste and I needed a break.

On the same subject as bad healers, as a main healer, I've rarely seen the other side of the coin and how many terrible healers there was out there until I started playing tank.
I can't fathom how many WHM (not only them but it's usually them) just regen before or between pulls (even if I'm full life) then start running around when they obviously get the aggro, if they're just lvl 40ish I can understand that they're still learning, but if the whm is 50+ they have no excuse.
I usually point that out (I even have a macro : 1st rule of healing : never regen during pull) but one of them told me : I know, it creates aggro, but I don't care, to which I just answered, "but I care". I then proceeded to not pull each time he regen'd me before I start and wait the full time of the regen (instead of removing it manually) before I pull, he quickly learned that it wasn't the best idea.

But enough of bashing healers, let's talk again about our favorite meat shield, tanks.
Had some delightful ones on the new 3.1 dungeons, but one of the most memorable one was that WAR that manage to do 98% of the dungeon in... deliverance, while of course using the barely minimal amount of CD.
And I'm not talking about the classic pulling in defiance then switching to deliverance, it was pulling in deliverance, staying in deliverance, not even waiting for tp and hp, and pull the next pack (he aggro'd some packs with around 100-200 tp).
Of course, the BLM and MCH that were there took back aggro a lot of time, or even myself because I had to spam heal him.
But even like that, he still tried to take back aggro with deliverance, the only time he used defiance was to take back the aggro from bosses that usually started attacking dps after a short amount of time.
Was it worth it? Well we reached the final boss 2 minutes faster than with good clearing group... so I guess that in his mind, it was totally great, but I had to do some much more effort to avoid wipes than usually.
And the nail on the coffin, only got 1 comm, yay....

As someone who plays mostly DPS, but leveled every class to 50 before Heavens ward I have to say that I feel for many of you. I work hard to make your job easy. As Brd I try to avoid AoE and use Foes and Ballad as needed. As melee DPS I don't "lol" and actually try to get out of AoEs. As tank, I balance str/vit accessories and use my cooldowns.
I'm learning Ast and find the card system a little confusing still, but I've never had a death so far.
I just want to say that I appreciate most of you and the extra stress you deal with as healers.

Just had a run on MCH.... with a SCH I didn't care for.

As someone who mains WHM/healer, I just couldn't help but sit there, stare in disappointment and shake my head.
I'd rather a drunk healer barely able to keep shit together.

They dashed off before the poor tank could even orientate them self, collected everything in a large mob for the tank while we're catching up - then when the tank and the rest of us do catch up, they just.... sit. Or run off, leaving the faerie in stay. And in Sic.
Fine, I get it. Haukke HM is easy and boring. I get it, the faerie can heal by herself.
But if you've got absolutely nothing better to do, then DPS, maybe? Not like you're having mp problems. Not like you're hitting any other buttons. Not like you're dodging anything. Not like you're actually doing a single damn thing.
They want it to go faster? They that bored? DPS some shit instead of running off and sitting in the next hallway with the fae on sic.

Or maybe, not treat the party as if their existence wasn't a bane and waste of your time?

This was rinse and repeat. Must have been a shocker that they had to do anything, when the other DPS caught too much hate and died in the mass mob they pulled.

Poor attitude. They forced the tank to play catch up to grab everything - even after stopping once for a grouping when they were finally able to pull without the SCH.... only to have to chase the SCH down the hall. That kind of forcing I can't respect.
This whole playstyle I can't respect.

I've heard of people doing this in the confessions - but this whole run reeked of, "you people are beneath me" from the beginning.

I don't know if this counts as a horror story, but it's horrible to ME so I will post it anyway. Worse, it's happened probably three times now in different places, but I will only mention the first one.

We're in A2S, and approaching the end, but it hasn't been a clean run. A loose hardmind here and an unfortunate bomb placement there had two late fight deaths which I had to res, so my mana wasn't spectacular going into the final phase, and DPS was a little light to boot from weakness, but so it goes. And as I'm throwing out heals on the tank with the gobtank debuff I realize that my mana isn't going to last, and ask for a ballad...Except the BRD had left foes on by accident and had no mana. And so with no other options I used "it". I took my best SCH strength, and killed it. I used Dissipation for the three extra aetherize stacks, and used them to lustrate the tank. And we succeeded, avoiding the wipe, with a tank that only survived literally because I did that.

And in that one moment I legitimized for myself the existence of Dissipation as a skill. I actually used it, an ability I seriously dislike in concept and effect, and it successfully served a proper function. I may not have to use it often or even rarely, but in that one moment it mattered. Even weeks later when I think back and realize that the skill was actually useful there, however incidental, it still horrifies me.

I hate you dissipation. You are failsauce, and your taste is bitter, and even the thought that I may be acting unreasonable in my judgement of you frightens and alarms me.
