I had the same problem last night. I was the tank of the group and I literally got disconnected with every single pull I did as well as multiple times during boss battles. In just 1 run, i got disconnected about 20 times. It was horrible...

I told the group that they could kick me if they had enough, with me disconnecting all the time, but they had the patience to see it through all the to the end. I even ended up with 2 commendations (I didn’t deserve).

Bless them.

I had a tank 90k in Royal Managerie at the latter part of the add phase. A Samurai in our team was designated by Shinryu as the off tank, and fortunately, he was on point with mechanics and dodging, so we somehow got Shinryu down to about 35% before the DC'd tank managed to relog. Sadly, we wiped shortly after.

She was super happy we didn't kick her, and was super nice, but I gave my comm to that poor SAM.

And Yoshi-P said samurais were better suited to DPS...

There's a level of smug satisfaction when you help a friend (who is Savage capable) clear the Royal Menagerie with a stacked 7-man savage-capable team. We more or less crushed the boss just after the second dive bomb and add phases were being destroyed so fast. I love the fight as a whole as a healer but sometimes when you just want to ROFLCURBSTOMP the fight and smile. :)

Just got called a scrub in levelling roulette because I have more than one class at 70.....ok. thx. bai.

I got Urth's Fount on mentor roulette earlier with sprouts in the party that were brand new spanking fresh to the duty, including the tank. My immediate thought is this is going to wipe. I make it super clear to the whole party they have to be able to do their best 50 rotations to pass this and that it's healer intensive.

First go wiped about 2/3's in to people getting hit. Second we had 10% echo, but I was still iffy about whether we could do it or not. We managed to get him all the way down until he started casting Shin Zantetsuken. Our dps was very very close, and we hadn't killed him yet by the time he finished the cast and started the animation. Just riiiiiight as the slash went off the screen went black and I thought we wiped but the duty complete message came up instead.

That could not have been any closer.

Some people already have 4 jobs at level 70. Which is normal if you play on regular basis and had early access.

I derped so hard earlier today in a susano ex pf clear group. I've cleared it twice but still need some practice, so I like going into clear parties to get that extra practice. Within the first minute of the fight, I get the orange knockback marker, panic and look for the thunderhead. Lo and behold it's right behind the entire group. I get knocked back, the group get hit with the line aoe, and I die by taking the stacking aoe away from the group. Miraculously the healers managed to keep everyone alive and rez me pretty quickly. Only to wipe later during the thunder marker phases. Thankfully I wasn't the cause of that. To anyone who might have been in that group, im so sorry. Clearly I still need practice lol

I did Baelsar's Wall today as RDM. It was an awesome experience we pulled everything after boss 2 up to the final boss , and I got to Comet the crap out of it all. Then in the last boss the healer ,and other dps went down; but i managed to keep the tank up just long enough to finish. It felt pretty darn good.

Top 3 worst moments
1. Healer who pulled everything in Castrum Meridianum because she though tanks were too slow and she wanted a fast run. We wiped... on trash... more than once.
2. I fail the button spam mechanic in Menagerie (arthritis so too slow or it hurts too much, might have found a fix for this tho)
3. Healer who refused to ress anyone in Menagerie because cooldown on ress is too long (Idk what cooldown he was talking about since he didn't use swiftcast + ress)

Top 3 best moments
1. A tank asked how much he can pull before we started, healer said big pulls were fine, we wiped and tank just said "Ok, maybe that was a bit too big" and didn't rage or leave.
2. I did Antitower for the first time just before SB, got grouped with 3 other first timers. We had fun, we wiped, we tried again and calmly talked about what might have gone wrong. We cleared it in the end and it felt great.
3. When you see a mentor who actually wants to help and teach new players instead of being rude or raging or not saying a word.

For 2, I am unsure if it was you with the similar comment elsewhere or if you saw the response, but if you are on a keyboard you can just spam-press buttons on it, each one will count towards the ATE.
For 3, I assume they meant either Swiftcast or the cast time on Raise. Either way, not the best response for a healer.

My fun, tanking Temple of the Fist, first time in there, so I tend to take it slow so I learn where things are (Especially since they seem to like adding extra spawns to areas we're fighting) when the healer eventually decides to pull ahead of me. I told him to not do it again, where he basically tells me to get better (apparently learn by doing not a thing), so I mentioned that if he did it again, I wouldn't be tanking the adds off of him. Not the best response, but rushing the tank's a pet peeve of mine, even when I'm not the tank.

He responds by not healing me at all the next pull...I assume to teach me a lesson?

Doma Castle, in progress drop only to find no tank. Mentor tank dropped in not long after so we proceed on.

I check the Healer's gear just in case I need to warn the tank and am shocked by what I see.

230 anima weapon on the AST. Armor is 270 shire, same with Accessories.

Ok, we can sorta work with this, healer gear is dropping. Healer... greeds on it and loses?

Healer stands in the aoes and dies during first boss. Due to how it loves to spam avoidable aoes we dance and dance and dance then the tank goes down, I (as ninja) go down, and our bard gets the last hit in on 20% health. So we had effectively wiped, but still got a win barely.

Next boss, we wipe because the healer does not get into the gather aoes, does not get into the tower aoes and so too much unavoidable aoe damage and we wipe. I explain the mechanics and we try again. Only to wipe AGAIN for the exact same reasons. The third time we barely got through because I stopped doing DPS and did the mechanics the healer should of been doing resulting in a longer boss fight but at least we complete it (thank god for ninja teleporting through mine lasers).

We get to the last boss and would have wiped were it not for me disabling the mine lasers so that we could pull the boss away from the proximity aoe the healer put on top of us. Which the healer nearly died to were it not for them chasing after the tank because the tank was out of heal range from the healer.

Space bar works as well for these, alternating mouse clicks and space bar might make this easier for you.

We are apparently in Opposite-Land today, as I've been waiting in queue for Shisui for around 10 minutes -as a tank-. I'm not entirely sure how to process this.

As for a more standard story, got Susano in Susano Roulette, and despite wiping multiple times due to new people in the group no one raged, and actually offered advice, which was accepted and put into practice, successfully.

And actually, that basically proves it, I must be in Opposite-Land. People aren't angry and tank queues aren't popping.

As far as I am aware there's been some odd issues with the DF again, at least on Aether, apparently in regards to EU players on NA servers. It's possible you were running into a similar issue.

I can confirm that, being an EU player on Behemoth. I've only managed to fix my issues today with help from a VPN account of a friend, but others are not so lucky.

I think I would have initiated a vote kick for harassment.

During my EX Roul last night, I got into a group with all new players to the dungeon. I was tank, had 2 Sam and a whm.
The two sams weren't pumping out the best of dps but not an issue since it was obvious they were trying and paying attention.
Then there was the whm ... They healed by spamming Med2 and then regen during the pull and then just running around jumping up and down during the trash fights, no dps and barely any targeted heals causing my health to be dangerously low all the time resulting in me blowing all my mp on sustain (DA+AD) and Darkest instead of helping dps things down. They would also constantly run off and pull more packs during fights or Sprint pull the next group while we are finishing off the current pack, run off in the wrong direction when the group is going for the next pull and so on. It was pretty obvious they weren't paying any attention and just not trying. Then randomly in the middle of a fight "Oh baby, but you soooooo fine." pops up in party chat.
Yep, pretty sure the whm was trying to awkwardly chat someone up in the middle of the run.

I'm guilt of being the silent mentor. The last time I tried to mentor someone I got told to "stfu" when I tried to help them with rdm. They kept repeatedly hard casting aero/ fire so I offered a quick tip to use jolt and then dualcast their other spells.

I'm guilty of being a quiet one. But that's just who I am. I am a very quiet individual, but if asked a question I will do my best to help out. Especially when it's a new tank that is having trouble keeping agro(particularly GLA/PLD or DRK as those are the ones I am more comfortable playing myself). The worst part is when EVERYONE of the melee run past the item dropped by a boss that you need to open the way(Castrum Meridiam - or however it's spelled), while the healers and ranged DPS had already turned to the doorway they were close to(I was RDM last time it happened), and had to go back because they ALL stood around the control panels clicking it trying to open the doors. I even said "bosses drop the item needed" as I auto-ran back to the item.

Recently i've learned that low level dungeons with a RDM is a constant battle of not ripping aggro from the tank while still trying to do something, and sometimes diversion+lucid dreaming is just not enough to save you. And sometimes tanks don't use any AoEs and barely any single target, so i decide that i'm the tank now and the healer silently adjusts accordingly.

Got that Str tank in Deltascape in v4. He started to pull, he died at stack 2 and asked why I didn't swap with him. I did it several times as solo tank so I didn't tank swap. He said no it's impossible with our ilvl right now. So when I became MT cause he died, he then went to sit in corner to show me i'll die from stack 2. The run went so smooth, the guy left without rolling on loots.

Which is all anyone can ask for imo. I figure if anyone is having trouble or genuinely wants assistance they'll ask for it. Mentors are just other players too, you shouldn't feel like you have to justify yourself =) I'm sure some people are grateful for any assistance you offer.

I feel for you. Seems like even with or without the crown that person would've told you off regardless. Hard to say, but if one thing is for certain it's that people can get pretty nasty and entitled in random duty's.

Thing I don't like about the Mentor status...I've partied a few(I had status before SB...I just need to clear Zurvan EX now to regain the roulette) who do NOT know what they are talking about. And give very bad advice, or only go with the "popular" strategy from youtube videos, and ignore anyone who has real time experience of the fights themselves.

I got a tank in 4.0 that *didn't* want to tankswap. Their gear wasn't good enough to survive 3 hits from Thunder 3, so they died. Then I MT'd and they had the balls to fight me for top aggro. Best part, they didn't even start the fight in a stance. When they popped Shield while I was in Shield, I just went sword because there was no talking to the guy. He ignored chat, so even using all the sound effects to indicate tank swaps wasn't working.

Yeah, not the way to handle the fight, trying to ignore mechanics.

In my defense, I never heard about tank swapping for 4.0 until a few run after I cleared it.

Recently went in DF trial, my OT was in tank stance. Their excuse? "I can ignore mechs and take more hit so healer doesn't need to heal me often." The healer never healed him and let him tank the floor.

So. Omega 4. Other tank has 36k hp because he's wearing ilevel 270 strength accessories... needless to say he died to almost every tankbuster.

What's the point of taking str accessories if you can't even do your main job as a tank - surviving?

Titan HM as AST for my Trial DR
A 5.6K Sprout PLD MT
A DRK that got knocked off by the first landslide
Half the party gets clipped by the first Weight of the Land
Everything is actually kinda going decently till post heart, PLD seemed to have a basic idea on how to do the fight but it was clear they were still new
WHM decides to hide behind the PLD... and eats the very first Mountain Buster
Next Weight of the Land goes out and two more people die
...Oh...
Pretty much engage super heal mode since keeping this min-ilvl PLD alive becomes my utmost priority (thank heavens for Nocturnal)
Eventually get SC back up to raise WHM
WHM gets MNK back up
MNK immediately LB2s... as Weight of the Land goes out... goes splat mid animation (as does one of the two RDMs)
...welp...
Eventually wittle Titan down with the remaining DPS
Commend the tank for understanding the fight well enough to know when to pop CDs (he even Hallowed a section of the fight that was cleave + mountain buster + tumlts)
Walk away with four commends

...it's good to be a healer. lol

As a BLM, I really appreciate just how much our AoE options have been expanded. I love watching the huge numbers, love watching the entire pack melt down, even if I think the proc chance on Thunder II/IV really needs to be raised a touch.

Which is why there is just nothing more frustrating than having a tank pull two groups in a row, then proceed to stand right in between them so my AoEs only hit half the mobs instead of all of them. Just what every DPS wants to see.

This is one of the reasons I love that Holy is centered on the WHM and not on a mob. I hate it when this sort of thing happens with my Aero III. So frustrating.

It's more frustrating when a tank start to pull, begin to aoe them with flash/overpower/unleash, pop cds, begin doing their aoe rotation, then... nope, he changed he's mind and go grab another set just to see your casting got interrupted cause out of range and lose your enochain and ley line...

It's probably sad that this has happened to me so many times that I don't even have the energy to get annoyed when it happens now.

time goes by its norm just get healers and dps in queue lol The queue was real but in the end it eventually popped,but I do want to thank the tanks who stuck through waiting all this time in queue for this run The run went really smooth with minimal deaths when we did finally did get into the instance

lol i hear ya. As a healer it utterly blows my mind. They have this whole reddit formula thing figured out but they really want to be a dps person. It's like me trying to heal a dragoon who wants to tank.

Thankfully, I havent ran into many tanks with the STR gear in Omega and the very few we did have, the party certainly let them have it

Had some good runs through Delta today. Cleared everything on my original group except 3.0 where we wiped at 2%. Infuriating! We abandoned after that. I queued again and got a much better group where DPS was noticeably improved. 1.0 was my 2nd attempt after I first tried yesterday. Healers yesterday were pretty terrible, so we only got down to 50%. Today's healers were the MVP of the run and did a great job! All the groups were polite except one snarky healer in 2.0 who was passive aggressive at me for failing a basic mechanic. I just didn't see the gather marker. Sue me.

3.0 was especially hilarious when she has you play an escape game. My character's current name is named after a major character from a series where you solve escape room puzzles. It gets even funnier at the conclusion of the set of raids where Omega starts testing how ordinary people become more powerful in a moment of crisis, a major recurring theme in the previously mentioned series. Oh, and there's even a character named Delta!

I had a run where our group started to die at 15%, resulting in only me and the other PLD being alive at 10%, where we continued to shoot her down to <1% just to die to an instant attack that killed us both from well over 40k HP life...
It was such a close run, people were going crazy over it. 2x PLD's are an awesome Combo. Clemency(?) is one of the best skills we ever got.

Was in a level 60 dungeon with someone who used a job boost potion. Tank.

He / She continued to use Flash 2 or 3 times in succession BEFORE even getting close to the mobs. Then just ran in and attacked one.
Needless to say, the tank never even generated any hate on the other mobs and everyone was getting attacked left and right.
It was awful.

Anyone else experience dreadfulness from players who just used a level boost potion?

I got a couple jump potion people. When I was taking Red Mage up, had a jump tank who kept saying "but in wow it was blahblah". After the third time he mentioned wow while I was explaining How To Tank 101, we just vote kicked him and I had an fc tank join us.

When I tank the 60 dungeons, its quite amusing if it is a jump dps. You see random skills that aren't part of a rotation of any kind, and you can just see them like a puppy, saying "I did it! I did the thing!". Then you put on your crown and give them direction and when they get it and see the good numbers, they're so happy.
