I mean, I wouldn't expect a bikini when getting my car worked on either, but here we are:

I just assume Iyami is drunk during 90% of duties. Those swimsuits and stuff are delusions, she's just got issues and Eorzea has no therapists.
But, what if you are fighting a space-faring robot or an ancient ... battery thing... at the beach? On the hottest day of the year. IN FRANCE.
...
(See, it's because in France they have no issue with all humans being topless on the beach so when the space-faring robot ... ... nevermind.)
Thats fair enough I just don't understand why people let these things bother them. I don't glam like a pole dancer either, I just don't care if others do. The immersion argument people often make is a ship that sailed a loooooooong time ago now. This isn't a game that takes itself too seriously and likes to have fun with silly stuff. The abundance of threads we get in this topic suggests to me many players take the game far more seriously than the game itself does.
We can play in swimsuits, chicken outfits or nice armour, I just roll with it, others get triggered. I never get angry or annoyed playing this game and if I did I would switch it off for the night. I have better things to do than worry about what someone I dont know wants to wear in a video game.
Here's some "immersion" for you:
When you're fighting a Giant Laser-Shooting Robot or a Giant Fire Breathing God, wearing a full plate or a bikini makes exactly zero difference.
lol I almost threw up the first time I saw Cindy on FFXV
thank god for mods:
