Did you see Titan in FFXIII? Those giants in FF-Blood of Bahamut? :) Weapons in FF7, Sin in FFX.
I suppose it will just be a Wandering non-hostile thing....sort of those flying things in Aion, and Tera.

The Adamantoise was shown as a common monster in The Black Shroud in some of the Alpha videos and even one of the Live Producer Letter. I wouldn't discount there being a meaner, nastier HNM type version of one though.
I wonder if ifirt will be a wandering primal? lol would be pretty bad to be a lvl 1 or 2 whatever and then *boom* ifirt drops down and smashes you chara XD
I think there will be two versions of primals honestly. One in a secluded setting like 1.0 and another in a open world roaming nature.
No one said, it was going to be in that area specifically ><;; But if it's on the video, I think it's in the game, I wouldnt see them wasting time creating creature they aren't gonna to implement somewhere in the game to be kill hopefully.
I guess only time will tell, you we can just ask for the Live Letter later...
I'm certain this will be the case. As they said you can summon the roaming primal for battle- and we also know that primal weapons and such will be available in 2.0. I dont see roaming primal + summon + weapons all being in the same content. That Primals are still a part of the lore, one of the three on going core pieces - so we will have those battles like in 1.0 (with a slightly different lore context).
I think Odin might be the only roaming primal. Spawn area Black Shroud looks like from all the videos.
But rendering it for a the video, should require a shit lot time from what i see people do at my work. I will bet you my FFXI Kraken, this gigantic adamantine was a hidden sneak peak to some major battle :)
Also wasnt one of those FATE adamantoise fight published from SE and that one was 10x bigger then the little one roaming around one the gamepad video.
I've been watching the "A tour of Eorzea - Part 1" a few times since someone pointed out that they've seen a Bard playing a harp in La Noscea.
Did you all see these as well?
Disciple of the Hand & Land gear:
Chocobo, Automaton and Bomb Pets / Companions:
And a Monk that almost looks like a Beastmaster???
Color me super excited~! \(^_^ )/
Or a pugilist that looks like a bst lol wearing class only gryphon gear.
Edit: nvm its just a crafting orb without the player loaded...
I think those critters where there just to stress our rigs further, I highly doubt a moogle will be flying around the Shroud sprinkling pixie dust, or a giant turdle will be smooshing everything in that camp, or ochus and treats there, or cactuars in a forest, WTWark?
That stuff was probably added as extra animations for our GPUs to draw, nothing more.
Well.. its there for something lol. I suppose they could have created the content just for the benchmark but.. :O.. but... lol
Another far stretch hope was that you can see the monsters flying around as if they actually "flew" rather then hover over the ground like we are used to.
That would be cool lol
@Lucke yeah I have no doubt that scene would NEVER happen normally in the shroud but seeing it there makes me wonder how much of it is planned content for other parts of the game just moved into that location for stress test and "wowment".
*head explodes due to information overload* ;)
A minute till start of live video?
IGN posted their article, focusing a lot on how its not free to play. A lot of the user comments on there show there is still a lot of hate for FF14. Whats even more funny is the IGN girl said in her video she wants beta testers to tweet her on if the game is cool or it sucks, that would be braking the NDA lol

Some people choke on logic.
I really hope PvP is good. As much as I love FFXIV and Yoshi P What's been released so far just isn't enough. I don't know what they want but the non-FF playing MMO public looks at FF and thinks... yeah but I already have THIS game I'm already playing. They may try it out of sheer curiosity, but something has to make them stay. ._.;;;;
The good news is, after forwarding like a billion links I managed to get two more people for PS3 beta. ^^
Need help finding a certain excerpt. I thought I read something saying for 1.0 players your home nation will be tied to your Grand Company.
I didn't really see IGN fault Square Enix for going with the subscription based model. Sure it is out of character for all MMO's, but that is only because there are 2 MMO's that are the Developer, Investor, and Publisher all in one! Blizzard and Square Enix. This is why all other games are going to F2P, not because they are failing, but because they are forced to repay their debt's quickly.
It's just how MMO's are made, Square Enix just so happens to own the IP and development. They have nobody to check in with, but themselves! This opens up huge amounts of freedom for an MMO to do whatever they want. They don't have to check with an investor and ask. "Is it okay if we spend our money on this?' or "We would like to do this, do you agree this is a good idea?". This slows down the development process to a crawl.
I'll post an updated list of media tour articles (hope you guys don't mind double posting). Please let me know if I missed something.

4Gamer: FFXIV interview 2/8/2013
It was from Massively's interview with Yoshida, paraphrased:
"He [Yoshida] also told me that Legacy characters will have their home nations determined by their Grand Company affiliations, but this can be changed during the course of the main scenario (going into further details would be spoiling the plot)."
To me, it makes more sense that "Legacy characters" means "1.0 characters" here, especially since Yoshida has used the terms interchangeably (e.g. "the legacy client").
