100 to 220, 170ish with vpn. RIP South Americans, SE don't want our money =d
Playing on PS4 (in Arizona) and it feels exactly the same!
I went from 120+ to 25-35 average
I live in California though
I told people for months they were moving them to California because they already own the necessary property there but no one believed me.
in New York i went up to 170 Ping after this move. everything is awful now. what a terrible decision, Square. you ruined everything.
mines around 80-100 with 0 packet loss in Minnesota
When the EU servers moved, I cleared titan ex at level 50 with 400 ping. I had to move servers to a 260 ping server (which is now 180 thanks to the move). Pretty sure 170ping isn't that terrible.
Heck, I even got into the top 10 once in pvp with 260 ping. And in pvp you can't really predict what the enemy is going to do, like in pve.
I imagine he would say something similar to what he said in response to the Diadem outcry: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachmen...-calm-down.png
It seems specious when you make that statement before you move the servers to a secret location that you know will subsequently screw over vast swaths of players to having -- you guessed it, 200ms latency, AT BEST.
But don't worry, stop complaining! 200ms is fine, great, perfectly playable and enjoyable. In fact, those under 200ms should really be lagged out by the server to 200ms. I mean...that's how they've proclaimed the game should be played, right? It's probably better at 200ms if you really give it a chance!
Please. 200ms is not worth $15 a month. I'll move to EU if I experience that to be better, I guess, but the very idea I have to do that is ridiculous. I can't imagine how many new players this will chase away. If I hadn't just hit 60, met fun players, and really enjoyed the game (crafting and gathering can be fun? who knew), there's not a chance in the world I would continue on with this.
Just, what the hell?
~110ms > 220-230ms, Midlands UK. Feels the same for me because I just super upgraded my laptop, but it also sorta feels like I wasted all the money upgrading, you know?
My partner is on ps4 but is experiencing similar delays to me, so I imagine hers is around the same. I was already having trouble with ghost AoEs etc while raiding... will probably have to move to EU servers and hope they follow through with house plot reimbursement.
To be honest, you sound more ignorant than selfish.
Lots of us, EU players, started to play this game 7 years ago, where there was only JP Datacenter.
3 Years later they moved our worlds to an NA Datacenter.
Only recently they opened an EU Datacenter with new worlds.
When you have 7 years of friendship, memories, stories, LS, FC, Static, Houses, millions of gils, etc. you don't trade all this for a Datacenter.
On a side note, high ping would not be an issue in DPS if SE could accept to change their netcode, making the location of a Datacenter quite irrelevant as much as you don't have something above 250ms.
What we need, is a new way to handle communication between client and server, because weaving 3 oGCD during 2,5 sec with 0,2 sec ping without clipping GCD, is possible if you don't have to wait for the server permission everytime you trigger a skill.
The problem lies in the netcode. We could all enjoy the Datacenter we want, if they could modify the netcode. So this is what you want to rant about.
And you really couldnt fit that into one of the other 34089120349801580565t25901 outcry threads?
honestly that sounds like the best decision really.
because of this move my ping has shot up to 170, and i'm still in the states. my girlfriend, who lives in the EU, now has to transfer out because of how unplayable it is.
i may as well quit until Square does something... IF they do something. its better than paying to play alone.
thanks for ruining everything Square. hope you enjoy your stupid vacation property that you just HAD to have instead of getting something in Central America where everyone would benefit. or, you know, having both east and west coast servers like every other friggin' mmo.
Well, I have been playing this game at 180+ping for $25 NZ dollars a month (using pingreducing VP thingies) so I can't say I feel sorry for you. And the game was perfectly playable at 260ping for me. Even when doing PvP.
Oh lord no, it wasn't my ping doing that - my partner had no problems at all with the old ping. It was my crap-bucket laptop and the way it struggled to deal with ff14 even on minimal settings that caused the problem, definitely client-side. Which is why I never really complained about it.
60's=>90's ping. Kentuckian gamer here. Don't really notice a difference yet...
Provider is Timewarner/Spectrum.
70ish in Texas now, not sure what it was but doesn't feel different.
SW Indiana here 120 to 160 no VPN was around 60 to 80 at old location, ping pretty much doubled for me. Really hate the fact that I might have to get a vpn service just to play the game for progression raiding.

Atlantic Canada, went from 30ms to 150ms. Routing is awful.
Using WTFast or similar programs I drop to about 97ms with much better routing.
Just sucks essentially adding another $10 a month to my monthy sub. Especially with the USD to CAD exchange.
I'm considering moving to one of the new EU servers that're opening up. I did a few test pings - tested the central wow NA server and it was ~110ms, same as I was getting in montreal, currently ~220+ for NA data centres, and like 35 for Chaos. I was looking forward to learning how to double-weave now I've got a system that can handle it and it's all been snatched away :(
God help my static if I take SCH into omega on Ultros with that ping, tanking was already a matter of "die until you learn at which millisecond you need to move even though you were clearly out of the AoE two seconds ago"
cross data centre PF when SE
(Going into 12s on Friday, ostensibly to clear with my static, so that'll be hilarious)
I'm all the way in Eastern Canada (Quebec. Montreal, actually, where the servers used to be) and I see zero difference. If anything, it's better now that I don't get lag spikes all the time...
went from 150 to 250/260
it still playable, but makes a difference, would expect a paid game to be better handled in that aspect. Hope they fix the route thing.
Respectfully, if VPN is improving your latency, that isn't SE's fault. The new servers are in a well-peered data center and your VPN service is doing a better job routing than your ISP is.
Since this update i have been getting a DCed symbol every min and also i get kicked from servers every 30 mins or so. Running a 50mb connection as well.

Yassssss sis! Defend this bad business practice! You sure showed him! I bet he is #shook af after that sick putdown.
I love minimising discourse! Yoshi P is the best, can't wait for Fanfest Saudi Arabia! It doesn't matter that no other threads are explicitly talking about the 200ms 'baseline' that is clearly ludicrous (especially for a server side battle system). You shouldn't have to see opinions and discussion on your FF hugbox site! No worries though, we can police comments together, and bring back the ~*~*~*love*~*~*~ for this service that they are kind enough to let us use actual money to pay for!
EDIT: Would you rather talk about how in 2017, after the end of support for PS3, the game still doesn't have anti aliasing and looks like trash garbage?
Pros and Cons of chaotic free discourse or structured combed speech, coupled with an incredibly diverse group of people all wielding English with their own culture vs a fairly (not completely) homogeneous group. I prefer more to the first - especially when you have a the possibility of a lot of friction (high diversity), because the later can quickly turn into "say what I want you to say or I'll remove you from existence".. lol. That said, if a thread is /very/ similar I wouldn't be opposed to seeing more threads combined (I assume that's a tool they have at least) as high friction and quantity makes a localized fire into a forest fire xD (reducing readability and ability of the forums).
Out of curiosity have you tried reporting a thread for that reason? "Repeat, please combine" or something?

Someone tell me if I've got the, or a, correct IP for Balmung in 204.2.229.84?
If so, I am averaging 78ms, Comcast service, from Nashville Tennessee - which is pretty much what it's always been.
Now that comment made me genuinely curious as to what caused the lagspikes for you, as I didn't get all that many lagspikes before servers moved, and I am from New Zealand, especially since you were right next to the servers. Maybe the line connecting you to the local server was dodgy?
U mad, brah? I'm not defending anything. Dont put words in my mouth.
So you think LITERALLY flooding the forums with 304982358205 gazillion threads is gonna make a difference?
in JP, they get more feedback because they discuss and gather information about a topic in ONE big thread.
This just looks like a few angry snowflakes who feel they deserve a separate attention post of their own.
If anything, THIS behaviour will just make the devs take input from NA/EU less seriously.
Idk why everyone is overreacting so much to this but I find it vastly entertaining. Please, continue your rants about how 200 ping is unplayable while the rest of us laugh at your first world "problems" and keep enjoying the perfectly playable 200+ ping. The popcorn has never been this salty and it's absolutely delicious.
