Did one plot with Althyk lavender alternated with prickly pineapple and another plot with Althyk lavender alternated with old world fig.

Althyk lavender + Pineapple = linseed

Just pulled more Althyk lavender i crossed with the normal popoto sets and got Ala Mhigan Mustard seeds.

Has anyone tried the XXXlight seeds in higher grade soils yet? I've just grown two lots (fire & ice) in the plant pots with G1 Last Noscean soil & they give 50 shards in around 48hrs. I'm wondering if it's possible to get crystals other clusters using La Noscean soil or possibly 100 or 150 shards with Shroud soil. If so, getting a decent amount of shards for little investment is appealing to me.

I planted one of each using G3 Shroud tonight. I'm curious what the yield will be, I may try G3 Than for intercross next.

Idk why you're quoting an oldass post, but yes, I did get that result.
However in the x months since then I've only gotten chives, so I have no explanation.

From the ___light seeds, I got 100 shards from Shroud 3, 50 from Thanlan 3 (no crosses seem possible). 48 growth period to maturity.

I see some of the seeds up on the market board on my server, though unless those are really low and you're stocked up on soils, I don't think they're worth much unless shards are very expensive on your server for some reason. The seeds themselves are the old hidden/single gather ones and you can't get them via retainers either, so they don't seem worth the costs that you have to invest in them between time/RNG/soils.

Especially when you can just send retainers out on a venture to collect 60 every 40 min (or something that sells for enough to buy even more crystals)! I was hoping for at least 300 or so crystals for that kind of time to mature.

30 shards per venture but like it has been said, it depends on the value on the server, if you have time to gather & if you need your retainers for something else. On Leviathan some shards/crystals/clusters are obscenely expensive at times so if I'm not using my garden for anything else then only having to tend the garden twice for possibly 800 shards is a boon.

I'm not sure if anyone collects this data.

Just harvested some oldrose planted with G3 Shroud. I used 1 Blue, 1 Yellow, 1 Red Pomace (in that order) on each of them at the same time. Harvested 2 Black, 2 White, 2 Red, and another 2 White.

Further evidence the outcome is RNG and not by a pattern of fertilizer used.

Althyk + Midland Cabbage = linseed
Althyk + Almond = almond seed

Ran some oldrose tests. I have access to 5 sets of 3 pots each.

1st test: only used 3 sets, not used to such fast seeds so missed the last pomance rotation on 2.

Pot: 1... 2.... 3...
Fert: Red Blue M.
Fert M. Red Blue
Fert Blue M. Red.

All plants gave the Red and perhaps something ect. msg. each set gave 2 white and 1 red in no repeating pattern.

2ed test. All 5 sets used.

Pot: 1... 2.... 3...
Fert: Red Blue M.
Fert M. Red Blue
Fert Blue M. Red.
Fert: Red Blue M.
Fert M. Red Blue

All plants gave an orange, purple, green (in that order) and perhaps something ect. message.

1, White, white, green. 2, orange, white, green. 3, orange, white, green. 4, white, rainbow, rainbow. 5, rainbow, white, black.

Althyk + midland cabbage = midland cabbage seeds
Althyk + Onion Prince = almond seeds
Onion Prince + Althyk = almond seeds
Had 2 Althyk on either side of the onion prince.

Would it be possible to get crop yield info added to the gardening site? Ex:

Crop Yield Per Soil:
G1 Shroud: 12
G2 Shroud: 18
G3 Shroud: 24
G1-3 Than: 8
G1-3 La Nosc: 8

So people can see what to expect using various soil types (including not expecting multiple of glazenuts/jute/bloodpeppers/etc).

It IS 60 shards per venture, unless your retainer is low level with pretty bad gear.

You're correct, I thought it was crystals they gave, rather than shards. I actually was just about to correct my post when I noticed your reply. =3

A neighbor of mine linked me to a Japanese blog that mentioned "Glazenut X La Nocsea Orange = Apricot Seeds". I was wondering if anyone has tried this cross or if anyone can test it out if they have spare seeds. I'm in the middle of other gardening projects so it will take over a month before I can test so if anyone else could it would be greatly appreciated.

Not mentioned on FFXIV Gardening. And personally I wouldn't waste the glazenut seeds.

Try: La Noscean Orange X Old World Fig or Old World Fig X either Earthlight ot Icelight. Those are all 95% chance, nothing but apricot.

The main reason I want to do Glazenut + Oranges is because I will still be growing Glazenuts instead of wasting days on other plants. Basically alternating between Glazenuts x Apricots for Glazenuts and Glazenuts x Oranges for Apricots.

I've been wanting to do this for a while but it's quite an undertaking getting all of the info correct. I might start small and work my way up. Thinking of putting it on the Seed Details page under Grow Time. However, I'd like to save space so it would be more like:

Crop Yield: 8 / 12 / 18 / 24 (G1-3 La Noscean & G1-3 Thanalan / G1 Shroud / G2 Shroud / G3 Shroud)

Would only need four entries since Than and La Nosc always produce the same number of plants.

It would also be nice to be able to include the seed yield as well:

Seed Yield: 1 / 1 / 2 (G1-3 La Noscean / G1-3 Thanalan / G1-3 Shroud)

I've created a new tab on the gardening spreadsheet to start filling in the crop/seed yield info. If anybody is able to help it would be very much appreciated! Should be able to leave comments on each seed.

Just did a whole bunch of Eggplant Knight x Mandrakes and got no King Tomato seeds but instead 26 x Pearl Roselle seeds. I used only 12 or 8 Eggplant Knight seeds and the rest were Mandrakes and still got none. I either have a very bad streak of luck or this cross doesn't let Mandrake harvests to result in King Tomato.

Thanks for the info. I will remove the King Tomato seed as it sounds like it's an error. You should have received at least 1 King Tomato seed from all of those!

I don't think there's anything new to find. The only new seed they've added is for flowers and those follow the same pattern as the roses in regards to what you get from using various fertilizer with them. They can also only be grown inside, so no crossing them with anything.

I'm slightly confused because I planted Voidrake seeds in the early hours of this morning (between 01:00 & 02:00 BST) & I've just logged in at 14:20 to find them all ready for harvest. Have they always been 12hr plants because I was sure they were 24hr? Nobody has been fertilising them.

I check my plants morning and afternoon, and they had been 24 before. None planted since 3.4 though.

They said the elemental seeds got sped up, nothing about voidrake or A. lavender.

That's what I thought. It was certainly 12 hours (13 at most) between planting & harvest. I've since planted Althyk Lavender & it's still 24hrs or so. I really hope Voidrake is going to stay at 12hrs as it's great when you need a quick cheap supply of stuff they can be changed into.

edit: Thought fishmeal wasn't affecting flower grow time, but gave it a couple more rounds and the last one caused them to immediately pop. It feels like it was taking off less than an hour though.

I also got Voidrake in 12 hours yesterday, so can confirm.

Reviving this thread due to new seeds in 4.1. Royal Fern Sori is rumored to be a new crossbread. Get Gardening Folks!

Really wish they would just give us the crossbreed info. I know only a small group of people care about gardening, but all other info is given out fairly easily but gardening is required to suffer through days of waiting just to try 1 combination which might have multiple outcomes. It would be nice to have an official list of all crops and what their crossbreeds are

We could at least get hints like hunts do for spawning S ranks.

I think it is fun to figure it out, trying things out seeing what works that is the joy and surprise with gardening.

Tons of different sectors bring back (so far) up to 8 seeds and each seed can grow up to 2 cloudsbreath each so I don't see why it wouldn't be airship only at this point.

I only have 1 airship that its survillance over 90 to get to those sectors.
So it's gonna take time for me to get 4 seeds,that's only concern I've got.
Well,at least I don't have problem with the chair being specialist recipe or alchemist's stats.
Its only the matter of time for me to get the mount anyway.Just hope it doesn't take too long due to RNGesus.
