Deifying Yoshi-P and the developers as if they were the second coming of Jesus Fucking Christ? When I purchased this game, I didn't realize I was supposed to be joining a cult. Tell me, when are we all supposed to start drinking the Kool-Aid and dropping dead in our secret compound in the Texas desert?

I tried logging in on my rare day off this morning at 7:30am EST. That's 4:30am PST. On a Thursday. And I got the 1017 "world is full, try again later" error. I haven't been able to pass beyond the character select screen since Sunday morning.

Don't sit here and try to tell me that my anger is misplaced and that we "made poor Yoshi-P cry". Don't try to tell me to "go do something else" with my time. I paid as much as you did for a service they're not providing me and tens of thousands of players like me.

Anyone who says this has been anything short of a disastrous launch is either blind, ignorant, or both.

Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting.

I couldn't play wow for like the whole first month in between the constant maintenance and crashes. when I did managed to get in, I\\\\'d get stuck in the looting animation. Content bugs everywhere. At least in this game when you managed to get in, the game actually worked. I\\\\'m sick and tired of people here crying about an mmo launch not working 100 percent. Seriously, go cry somehow else.

No offense to you... but seriously, what the fuck does your WoW experience have to do with me paying for a product that doesn't work more often than it does?
I personally don't care if Blizzard came to your house to paddle you daily. A company screwing you in 2004 has nothing to do with SE providing bad service to paying customers now.
I swear, Blizzard (and FFXI as well) set the bar so low that people are ecstatic when they come across mediocrity.

Launch problems happens in every single mmo in recent memory, wow is just one example. they will continue to happen years down the line, to other games, by other companies, to other players, your kids, and their kids. It's a fact of life of how server technology works. It makes no sense to buy more servers than anticipated because population always drops after first month, what are they going to do with all the extra servers?

People say "OMG white knights" in a forum that requires an account from the business they claim to dislike so much, who makes the game that they are too unhappy with to actually say something positive about, so much that they gotta call anyone who does, a "white knight".

I see this through my own eyes and personal experience though. I don't patronize businesses I dislike, don't buy their products. I'm not posting in the Blizzard forums right now. You know why? Because I don't play their MMO.

The fact that I'm here is an indication of how much I love this company & its games. Keep up the good work Yoshi! I'm truly impressed, even after spending all that time in beta I'm still surprised enough to be utterly blown away by the depth of this game, shocked by every single little detail put into so much of it. I keep stumbling across subtle things that make me realize just how much dedication the devs put into it.

I will continue to subscribe as long as I am able to!

I guess that makes it alright.
As long as this is people's attitude then yes, they will continue to happen.
Do they have to happen? Are they inevitable? NO. Absolutely not
Should they continuously happen in MMO after MMO as if each one is the first MMO in existence? I think we both know the answer to that

We've got to stop doing this.
Every time SE does the players wrong, we excuse it by citing examples of other companies doing players worse. That is not an excuse.

But just for you, I'll say "Thank you SE for not letting the servers crash and stay down for a month, oh mighty, reverent Devs... blessed art thou that patcheth us unto more errors"

I think the OP's post only adds / compounds the negativity in which they decry. Sadly, a 'shame on you' does not in any way elevate the conversation.
I think once communication was clearly made regarding new servers, most of the hubbub died down. That was the majority of the anger, the misunderstanding that Japan was getting new servers, but not NA/EU.

Don't play mmos at launch if you can't handle problems. Stop asking for unrealistic things, not everything is fixable just because you want it to. Vote with your wallet.
