Well I could argue that some may have paid just to get the legacy status :D
It doesn't make sense to smile when you are disappointed ..
I don't see what harm it has on voicing concerns, opinions and disappointment, what's its to you anyway ?

I think it is fair for people to be concerned and frustrated. It is easy to say 2.0 is going to be amazing, it just words. If Square would just give us something some evidence of the quality of 2.0, attitudes in these forums might change and it would be a more positive place but instead they give us nothing they delay things and disappoint us which of course is only going to lead to more concern and negativity. Some of us have invested a lot into this game is not unreasonable to expect a little something back.
God forbid we voice any negative opinion over something we don't care for. No, if you don't like it, you can't change it, you have to leave.
I just feel like this is a heavy misstep on their part, and the community is far too soft on Square. This game is going to end up like crap if we just nod our heads and smile with every mistake they make.
This whole thing has been an opportunity for a game community to help reshape the game into something people will want to play. We cannot play the overly supporting mother here, we have to be strict. We are the customers, they want our money, let them know what it takes to get our money.
Just good isn't enough to get people back into this game. You know it, I know it, and I hope to God Square knows it.
To be fair it's only repetitive due to the current endgame content. I absolutely loved leveing my thau up after the 1.20 changes, all of the spells were viable and useful. It felt like I was in control of the fights and that my job was equipped to handle itself. I'll grant you that current endgame content is lightning combo spam and currently for alot of endgame fights it actually seems more useful to thau than use blm (raise for unlucky eruptionees, sentinel and rampart for unavoidable AF moves etc).
I'll also give you that ice spells need to combo or something and other than freeze and timed flare stack, ancient magic is kind of a joke. That said rather than just simply buffing those skills I think they should maybe take another look at thau and blm, that doesn't mean nerf hammer either. As it stands, lightning combo is just the bane of damn near anything and simply adding anti lightning enemies isn't the answer either.
MP is kinda the justification for insane damage potential with the safety of range but when things die in under 5 minutes that's not really much of a drawback especially with bard's ballad. I'd sooner see a thau/blm model with more skill involved where people have to pace their damage more and think about the combos they're using more. I would not want to see a return to magic where it's the same attack in different flavours though but that's a personal opinion and it's more from getting bored of that in previous ff games.
Anyways sorry to ramble on about thau/blm~
It wouldn't make sense to constantly negative people or people who are constantly 'disappointed'. "Just smile for the good things" means life goes on and if you're disappointed it's fine to voice your concerns but life goes on in the end to dwell over something.
Funnily enough, it's no one's concerns but your own until people who are disappointed start calling those who got over it or didn't let it bother them to the point of QQing white knights and fanboys.
Thank you Elexia, Just want everyone to be happy.. thats all... the game we all want to succeed and make it the best MMO ever. Its okay to voice your Opinion, but the Consistent Negative remarks, and even going as far as "Yep, this game is going to fail now" isn't going to make it all better. I know I been a Nag Yesterday and today, and I'm deeply sorry for it.. but being as it may that were so close to the Beta Launch of 2.0. I just don't see the excitement in alot of people on these forums.
So I try to put in some "Positive Reinforcement" in, that the letter can be taken in several different ways ( except we know that there's no FFXIV 2.0 Trailer). However, that doesn't mean E3 is not going to be there show some stuff, get the word out and have them look forward to August when they flood the gates with Info.
I love the Forums, and I love all of you as Friends, I just want us to be one big happy family, and not going at each others throat all the time. I know FFXIV back in 2010 left a sour taste in our mouths, but ever since Yoshi-P took over it has been nothing but Stellar, sure he made a few mistakes here and there, Were all human.
Anyways, I been rambling on enough. I love you all and God bless!
Starlord Ravine
I have a feeling that next week's letter from the producer is going to announce that the previous poll supported adding an arcanist class, red mage job, and viera race (final name to be determined). E3 is here now, and to kick off the public unveiling of 2.0, here is some artwork for each of these. We might even get an actual in-game render for arcanist and red mage.
All of that would be great info, but if they really do plan on hiding 2.0 for another two plus months, it would hardly make up for it. Again, I said "if" they plan on hiding 2.0. We don't really know what they plan to show at E3. The fact that they're keeping the trailer a secret and they aren't sending the 2.0 site live until sometime after E3 doesn't bode well, however.
I fully expect interviews with new information (and good information at that), but I think it's time that we actually see 2.0. We've heard a lot about it, but seeing is believing.
Re The (lack of) E3 trailer:
This is par for the course. Not sure why anyone would be surprised, or why this is even worth 26 pages of discussion.
