Why is the Cruise Chaser mount from the Mogstation?

SE puts something nobody cares about on the mogstation everybody is "Whatever". SE puts something everyone cares about on the mogstation Everyone is: "Booo Boo Bad SE boo" I say make up your mind complain about everything on the mog or complain about nothing.

I don't think it's either a Mogstation item or The Feast, this could easily be a reward from The Rising , Gold Saucer, Blue mage challenge, Zadnor/DR/DRS and so on... i'm really disapointed that they're starting to take resources from what should be ingame to the store, i get the Cloud's bike, the Whales and the other mounts that don't fit really well or add some flavor as a recolor from another ingame mount and i'm ok with that, but this seems to be too far, what are they adding next? Vrtra or some raid boss as store mounts too? this is a bad precedent.

I just think it's funny that this thread exists at all.

You want a firestorm? Let's see them try reversing course on this and giving the item away for free after tens of thousands of people buy it. The blast would be measured in megatons compared to this firecracker.

There's absolutely no point to this. You're unhappy - we got you. They aren't going to do an about-face - they can't. So your choices really boil down to either sucking it up (cupcake), or being so incensed that you unsub (but do so realizing that you of the dozen or so people circle-****ing the upvotes on each other here do not in any way, shape, or form represent some kind of outraged majority. Most people are playing the game or at work or sleeping and don't give a rat's ass either way).

But the mount with a long associated questline (that is, nevertheless, so absurdly simple that everyone gets one at the end provided they put in a few hours of running in circles)? Not coming.

This is why I didn't want this to be a Mogstation evil thread - because that's another very messy can of worms.

I came from the era before WoW had a cash shop, like quite a number of people here. You bought the game and subscription and that was it.

Ideally for me, in a MMO where you b2p and pay a subscription, there should be no cash shop. Everything should be earnable in-game.

However, I've seen the arguments that MMO costs have gone up and partially accepted that the cash shop is a necessary evil. I'm fine with the cash shop selling things like the whale/peacock mount etc

The Cruise Chaser however is different. As others have pointed out, it's reusing in-game assets and could have been tied into in-game content.

Is this a slippery slope, where we see more in-game assets re-used in the cash shop in the future?

Maybe or maybe not.

I don't support the idea that I have to buy a game, buy expansions, pay a subscribe, AND have a market selling items for the game with real money.

I can handle some things, like selling items from past ingame events. It's different.

1. Yoshi does not get to decide how much money the dev team has to work with. He takes what SE gives him and then decides where best to use it. The letter where they apologize for the servers issue right now, Yoshi states in his half that they have been in talks to get more resources and money from SE.

2. Unique mog items and mounts are done by a separate smaller dev team that works for Marketing.

Don't worry, SE already addressed this by simply releasing less content per patch and severely under-polishing some of the things they do actually release.

1. It's a good reminder for those who don't know, but those who know are probably criticizing Square, not Yoshi-P.

2. The problem is how the Cruiser (and Sleipnir as some people were saying in earlier pages) is an iconic boss and not an uninmportant out-of-character mount made exclusively by the separate team.

Because they like money. Also, I'd rather have this than another Feast reward I'll never get so I can't complain too much. Been waiting for this one for awhile.
