Important Information Regarding North American Data Center Relocation

I'm a South America (Brazil) PS4 Player and it is pretty bad for me since i can't use WTfast on PS4, i'm a MNK and it affected my opening, my AOE dodging and some ex primmals and savage stances mechanics.
For instance:
- At Sophia ex when it happens huge/small slide mechanic, small slide to be more specific, even if i do that mech right, i get 1 stack from head blast, like i was still sliding on blast range;
- A11s limit cut, odd or even dots mechanic: If i'm odd dot, i'm pretty much dead because Cruise Chaser hits me twice like if i didn't receive a knock back yet from first hit;
Anyways i won't quit playing yet because the server just stabilished to new location so i have high hopes they can make the ping decreases a little bit. I've tried playing using EU datacenter and it is even worse for me. Hopes for a better ping for me SE.

Look at the comment right below yours, you'll clearly see a quote that states XIV is designed to be played in an environment of 200-220ms. Anything below that is a bonus. So I say this to you and every other person complaining about having a ping of 100-200ms: "Get over it, you're still well within the ping range the game is designed to cater for." If you are seriously going to say that having a ping that's still below what they recommend makes the game not enjoyable then you're spoiled and entitled. Oceanic players who had little choice but to play on an NA server due to language barriers laugh at you. You can't triple weave your OGCD skills anymore because your ping went from 50 to 150? Congratulations, you're now on the same level as everyone else and don't get to play with an advantage that other players never had yet never complained about.

And before Ama pipes in, I'm not defending the way skills work and how long some of them take to perform their actions like the dreaded Hallowed Ground or Lustrate delays because those are legitimate gripes that should be addressed. I'm saying people need to stop whining about the fact that they are now on par with most other people in terms of their connection. To call a 350 ping unplayable is an insult to people who have dealt with that ping since launch and to say that Hest's friend is having an experience that is not enjoyable with a ping of 150-190 which I'll say again... is below the 200-220ms ping that the game is designed to be played at is a bit sad.

My heart goes out to you, I hadn't even considered this kind of side-effect of the client-based movement. There are routers that have VPN client features if you'd like to look into that. That way, even your PS4 traffic could be routed through a VPN. It may require you to purchase a new router or flash custom firmware, but it's a potential option at least. I believe the best you can expect from Brazil is about 180-200ms with good routing, but if you're seeing effects that bad I suspect you're getting much higher latency than that right now and it can be improved.

So, this is a misunderstanding of what WTFast does. WTFast and VPN's for gaming bypass your ISP's routing and set their own, optimized route from source to destination. This fixes your ISP's bad routing, and has nothing to do with game servers themselves.

And this is a misunderstanding of the quote. It is saying it was possible do something under 78 ping that was not possible under 120 ping. This means the coding is bad if they expect 200 ping not to effect gameplay. That has everything to do with the servers. I am not asking SE to control our pings, they can't but they can actually change the coding for how CGD and oGCDs respond so 200 MS feels the same as 5 MS and currently, that is clearly not the case if it is effecting people's rotations.

Just a clarification abut the South America 300ms ping on avg for Telefonica (Spain) ISP related companies:

Before migration, the jump was also made on Europe. The difference is that back then, it only made 3 hops on Spain and mantaining the avg ms. All SA face the obvious +100ms, that being going through Europe or going directly to US because the distance is a lot. After migration, the hops on Europe changed, being in our case that went to Spain, increased ms, then to France, +100ms more, then back to Spain and again more ms, then to Netherlands and finally US. This is an issue related to Telefónica, but XIV's support needs to understand that our ISP companies won't change anything, because we're just a bunch or particular users. We're not companies. Square Enix is a company, and is them who must make the move and try to fix this issue.

What do you wants us to do? Get a third party VPN? Quit the game? We're all trying to contact our ISP, but they aren't doing a thing. "You don't have connection speed problems? Then you're good. Latency is an issue outside our country so it's not on our hands." The line that every ISP related to Telefónica is giving to us.

This 100%. It would make a world of difference if they would just reduce the dependency on server confirmations before the client is allowed to act. The swiftcast delay issue is a prime example of how significant that is. Double weaving is obviously another.

Hey, Stgo here but fam's on Viña (Concón). Switch to VTR. I have VTR there and the ping's about 180ms. They barely changed the route. Movistar (Telefónica) is routing us through Europe, and there we're getting +120ms avg because it jumps from Spain to France to Spain to Netherlands. Before migration we jumped to Spain too, but it was only 3 hops and no increment on ms. Switch to VTR.

To people who were affected by the being moved. Go to technical support forum. They are looking for people who have issues for data. The post is made by Zhexos.
