is anyone else unable to connect to lobby server?

Yup. Kicked out the one time I finally got in after all the 2002 and 5006 and 90k Malarkey. Now it's been 3 hrs and I still can't get past the server lobby error.

Unable to connect to Aether datacenter.

Did a tracert a few times from my IP to the US datacenter, and it looks like the packets are getting hung up in the Level3 center in Montreal (surprise!) with anywhere from 300- to 1500- ms. latency.

It's been almost two years, and yet Square still cannot fix this issue.

Seems to me this week was a very poor time to start this game.

Yeah. Playing at launch with this much hype was a bad idea because everyone and their entire family and that family's family is trying to get in all at once. But really SE should have expected this and have taken better pre-caution with the initial log on's. Unless they didn't think this many pre-orders would sell, which would be pretty stupid considering all the hype it's been getting since it's announcement.

We should do everyone a favor and....I don't know, do something to that Level3 center. Completely worthless. It seems every time they get the bit of stress, they start to block anyone trying to connect to a server past them. Or however that works.

the silence from Squeenix isn't much of a surprise to me.

Can't log in at all. I shouldn't have payed my sub until I knew the game was playable. I hope they give as an extra day or two of sub time to make up for it but I'm not holding my breath...

They are most likely working on the problem ... Lot of the west coast got out of work. If u keep trying I'll get past the lobby- I just did

seriously. If a Japanese datacenter were having the same problems Aether is, they'd have techs on it within minutes, and NUMEROUS reports of "we're working on it"

For God's sake I can connect to every single data center except Aether, which naturally, is where my level 50s are... :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
