But in all seriousness, flying wings mount would be pretty cool if SE decided to do it. I would totes farm primal ex fights 99 times for them. :D

twelve or so years ago, the concept of wings on an MMO character was refreshing and innovative.
However, free MMOs, and oftentimes, very cheaply coded mmos would throw wings in the mix to get more people into their games. While the games suffered through poor mechanics, poor story, etc, they always tried to use the whole "Angel and Demon wing" thing to grab people in.
The other poster posted all these screenshots of FF with wings is all good and well but at the time this was all new and exciting territory. However, it has since been run into the grinder.
Think of world cataclysm movies like Independence Day, Armageddon. It was unique at the time but if every single low budget movie used the "sales pitch" or world wide destruction in their movies for over 15 years and then a AAA movie comes out with a World wide destruction as a sales pitch, it does not have that same type of excitement.
Angel wings has now become synonymous of a cheap MMO gimmick.
