Yeah I don't know why people think it would be a massive step up.

Healers should have a real dps rotation.
DPS should be more than brain dead damage output.
Damage should be spread across all the roles to encourage engagement on multiple fronts.
The boomer class design of "all i do is heal, all i do is soak damage, all i do is deal damage" needs to die in a fire. It's outdated and boring. Plus, I'm tired of the most brain dead person picking healer and then I'm forced to deal with/carry them through content because all they do is mash the same heals until they're oom (usually to the extent that they don't manage mana, because that's the caliber of player that is attracted to these singular roles).
Imagine a game where they actually designed classes around themes, and damage was just inherent among them to certain degrees within each other. Then the only thing that would matter is the class identity and their enhanced role they bring.
Just to make sure so I don't make the same mistake as with the original post that started this. do you mean it as an exaggerated point to drive home that it is uninteresting or as a literal accurate representation. Because if it is the first there is not really much to argue, if it is the second though I would disagree but before I take my time to write out why I think it is I want to make sure that is actually what we are talking about.
For reference the only other job that on average in savage has more than 20% of their button presses be one button is black mage with about 40% of their presses being fire 4
Every other class is generally sub or around 20% (such as saber dance on DNC, attonment on PLD, shinten on SAM, fell cleave on WAR) for their most used action
Meanwhile healers LOWEST nuke cast percentage is WHM which averages at 55% glare because lilys are GCD, the highest healer for nuke percentage is SGE at over 70% of casts on average being dosis
Why do healers not have a choice on this front
