Gardening - Harvesting

I guess it's just like when you end up getting no successful cross in an 8 slot garden despite optimal planting. I need to get on that midland cabbage/blood peppers cross-breeding to share results.

I've harvested 8 midland cabbage in the last 2 days next to blood peppers, all 8 gave me chive seeds.

What do you want me to say? That plot was 100% empty when I planted.

I'm not saying you don't get chives, because it's been confirmed chives by many other ppl; that isn't even in question. I've gotten pure chives up until this set which is why I was surprised.
So far I'm 20 chives 2 popotos.

Old world fig X pearl sprout shows Dalmud popoto, Azeyma Rose, and royal kukuru all as posibilities. There are others.

I'm sure. I was strictly using this bed to test Cabbage x Blood Pepper crosses. This is the second set I tested since it was all harvested together (I'd previously harvested other Cabbage then replanted).

Unless there is something that is being missed, these seem to be the correct possibilities. There's a few other crosses that this is showing up but I'm not sure if it has something to do with one-way crosses or not. I'm honestly a bit confused and it's pretty much impossible to get any kind of confirmation from the devs. Very frustrating.

So far the ones I have seen listed are all shown as two way. Don't know how accurate that is.

Harvested some Pearl Sprouts I had growing by leftover Midland Cabbages.
4 out of 4 gave Dalamud Popoto seeds.
edit: Harvested cabbages planted against those sprouts later. Can confirm it's a two-way cross.

So if you're gathering seeds from those nodes in N.Shroud, both cabbages and eggplants have a use. Both cross with Pearl Sprouts to make Dalamud Popotoes.
Or you could use the eggplants to make the D.popos, and save the cabbages to cross with peppers to restock on chives.

Too bad eggplants don't cross with peppers to make chives as well. Or if it does, I failed 2 out of 2 attempts on it.

Excellent. Thanks for all the info. Cabbage x Sprout is another very efficient cross for the Dalamuds.

Oldroses are flowers that can be crafted into accessories or displayed in vases. I'm very interested in the plants that will grow shards though.

Althyk Lavender can be exchanged for the following items:
Adamantite Nugget x1 / Aurum Regis Nugget x2 / Abalathian Rock Salt x5 / Titanium Nugget x3 / Hardsilver Nugget x4

Voidrake can be exchanged for the following items:
Gold Ore x3 / Darksteel Ore x3 / Volcanic Rock Salt x5 / Cobalt Ore x6 / Silver Ore x8

Great! I've created a couple new tabs (Flowerpot & New Crosses) on the Gardening Spreadsheet (yes, the original one!) to track my personal cross results along with those from a couple other trusted sources. Feel free to check against it so as to try to not duplicate crosses.

Not sure if the oldroses belong here, but they work on a very simple additive RBY system for the basic colors.

red + yellow = orange
yellow + blue = green
blue + red = purple etc.

red + blue + yellow = "Perhaps it will yield red flowers, or perhaps flowers of a more unusual shade..." Both ended up being white roses.
I only fed pomace once each color, so its likely black/multicolor involve feeding multiple times?

edit: also only used G1 thanalan soil

I've been tracking my results on the Gardening Spreadsheet as well and have found pretty much the exact same thing you are saying. Simple color system is seems, though not quite sure how the Unusual color is determined yet. I've received White and Yellow so far.

Decided to create a short flowerpot color guide on the gardening site:

My results using G3 shroud soil:
Blue + Red resulted in 2 x purple flowers.
Yellow + Blue -> Green + Red resulted in 2 x rainbow flowers

Trying to recreate the rainbow again today. Will try to remember to take a screenshot.

Althyk Lavender grown next to Blood Peppers yields Midland Basil or Dzemael Tomato. (Also, wow, it grows ridiculously fast.)

Trying Voidrake seeds against the Blood Peppers next.

What was the yield on the Altyk Lavender from that? And I'm assuming G3 Thanalan soil? I have one crop crossing Altyk with blood peppers, chives, voidrake and then some in shroud soil right now.

I used G3 Shroud soil to get 3 lavender per plot. I guess it's the result of it having a quick growth time.

Just had the voidrake pop. 3 voidrake from g3 shroud soil. The voidrake crossed with the Althyk produced Ala Mhigan Mustard seeds.

It's classified as an Other item (because it's a mount), not a Gardening item. It's not an actual seed sorry.

So plucked some more stuff this morning. Both void & althyk seem to yield two of their respective crops with Than 3 soil and three with shroud 3 soil. I got a cross from the Althyk with chives, it produced a linseed seed. Going to pop some void next to the chives & blood peppers to see what comes of it now.

edit: Plopped the linseed and an onion prince next to the voidrake. Yay for random seeds.

Just harvested the voidrake;

voidrake cross-bred with blood peppers using G3 Thanalan = 2 voidrake per harvest plus midland basil seeds.

I suspect there's got to be another intercross but it was very small sample size (only four plants). Interesting that that was one of the intercrosses I also got with altyk + blood pepper too, though.

Repeated my process that resulted in rainbow flowers the first day in two flower pots and got black flowers from one and red from another. So it appears once all 3 colors of pomace have been handed over it's just a dice roll as to what you end up with.

We used Grade 3 Thanalan soil and planted Voidrake alternating with Popoto Sets and got:

Ala Mhigan mustard seeds
Paprika seeds

Anyone know where to get the XXXlight Seeds from (eg Firelight, Windlight etc)? I'm a bit peeved that the Althyk Lavender & Voidrake Seeds can be bought much cheaper using Free Company Credits that they can be using GC Seals, I think they got the pricing reversed. Good way to convert GC Seals to useful mats though (especially Adamantite Nuggets) if they respond to G3 Shroud Soil with a decent yield.

You get 3 Lavender (or voidrake) per harvest using G3 shroud soil, it appears to be 2 using other soils.

Look in your gathering log, under the harvesting tab, for Level 1-5 items.
Firelight = Middle La Noscea
Icelight = Western La Noscea
Windlight = Central Shroud
Earthlight = Moraby Bay
Levinlight = Central Thanalan
Waterlight = Western Thanalan

ONLY Chives seeds all the time. I had been using Midland Cabbage + Blood Peppers since the Peppers exist and not a single time I had ever got something different from Chives Seeds.
