The thing is nobody has to do better. Square-Enix's job is to entice with a game to play. With 1.0 people waited because we wanted a fun game. I personally do not believe people will pay at the cheapest $119.88 for the 'complete' version. Every game has a deadline and Final Fantasy is past that deadline for release. Yoshida and every other head developer had a set time, a budget, and has to work in that to release a game people will want to play now and honestly why shouldn't they? They are not paying for it later they are paying for it now.

Note: The come back next month three months for now after patch 2.X doesn't cut it. Final Fantasy XIV doesn't exist in a bubble the majority of the people who leave will not come back. MMOs typically always trickle off as people leave finding other things to do both real world and game world.

Everything the OP said is accurate, with the exception of a lack of patience. I absolutely rushed to 50, then ended up helping other players get geared up. But if I didn't, I'd be right where he is. And by "rushed" I skipped some text and played intelligently. I didn't utilize any exploits, find the absolute fastest way to level, or faceroll through every dungeon. When people claim taking their time is the right way to enjoy the game, they're full of shit. Everyone plays MMOs differently. There is no right or wrong way. And MMOs are definitely catered to endgame because ultimately everyone ends up there eventually and it's all about a grind to get the best stuff -- which at present provides few options aside from grinding your balls off in AK and getting dat mythology in before Monday. And Coil, if you have an extremely competent, well-geared group. Everyone has the same weapon, the same armor, and the same goals. It's not exactly a mind-blowing variety. The OP might have been a little abrasive and pissy about it, but he's right. I help people to avoid posting the same exact shit he did for me. Otherwise I'd punch a kitten and uninstall the game.

Regardless, the bottom line is, if you're not level 50, you don't know what the f--- he's talking about.

And you complain when you made your own decisions.

Granted, this game is bare bones minimum when it comes to quests and forcing people to grind. But I doubt anyone is forcing you to not play anything else, get cross-class skills, take up a harvesting class to get money, RP, dance naked ... whatever.

Yes, I've had high capped people, in EQ2 I had a level 95 guardian. And I find if you do not do things to keep busy it will get stale.

Getting to level 50 in a month is not rushing thats how long it takes even for a casual player like myself.

What you are saying is that to fully enjoy this game you should do things you don't really enjoy. News flash, the game is as repetitive as mine sweeper.

You know what's fun? Actually having something to do and not be a zombie. Pointing out different activites(IRL, other games and whatnot) is irrelevant, this is a game itself.

I am sooo tired of peopling saying rushed. Not everyone "rushes"...some people go at their own pace and can do things efficient and quickly. Also...lot of the legacy players are bored cuz we have everything 50! This is a really, really fun game and I would love to have more to do.

If patch 2.1 seriously isn't coming out until December..well then idk what to say... 4 and a half months with no update? In a P2P game? I remember Yoshida saying each patch would be roughly every 2 months or so. He also said that at end game we would have so much to do and it would be so challenging. So far Coil is fun but pretty easy..the only reason T5 isn't beat yet is because its bugged.

I log in now and basically stare at my character...then wait until its time to start coil. Once that's done there is nothing else to do. I'd love to be able to take my other FC members through coil but oh wait cant....it has a stupid lock out.
