Oh so its that one, thanks, had troubles pinpointing it :v (cuz every time I went for it again forgot to recheck)

That's strange. In my entire time of playing this game, I never lost aggro to anyone during Eye of the Beholder whenever I tanked Aurum Vale. Maybe I take my usual routine for granted during that fight, but Coincounter wouldn't attack anyone else unless it was to target a random player with Glower or Eye of the Beholder. Not to mention that I got aggro several GCDs before Coincounter "reconsiders" anything on at least two of the four wipes. Reflecting on it now, I believe the tank's comment was a jab against my assistance with DPS, even though the tank and NIN were being idiots getting one-shotted by 100-tonze Swing. I do not think it has to do with an aggro reset (if there is one), but what you said is interesting. I'll pay more attention to it.
Regardless, that tank was dreadful to heal. I'm glad that my vote kick passed and was able to get a FC mate to make things more smooth yet exciting.
I have lost aggro from that a few times, but I didn't know about the hate reset then either, and just figured the healer(almost always them for obvious reasons) built up a lot of aggro before the boss went nuts.
On a horror story point set tho.
I wanted to help my friend gain her weekly dungeon bonus from the challenge log on one of her DPS jobs. But since the DF wouldn't let us go for Tam-tara (cuz for us is the quickest) with me playing either Tank or Healer, we called out for help from another of our peers. Of course, this new person chose Tanking and so, me, the worst-healer-ever-of-all-time had to play haelz1!
This person did warn us, however, that they might have internet issues... true to their word, they had the DC icon as soon as we got in...
So, the horror!
I was a Healer, Tanking a dungeon by DPSing!!
I am conflicted.
(later on the companion reseted their connection and were able to Tank for us so it went without issues but just imagine the horror).
OK, so I usually do my Alex NM drops with my Scholar friend because we're always well synched and it makes everything much easier even if the party is not the best.
Unfortunately, today, he had an exam and wasn't playing like always on A2. His MP got to 500ish, he lost Eos 2 times because he pressed Dissipation wrong, tried to raise someone I had raised already. It's ok, just normal mode, I could heal alone if needed. But no: the tanks couldn't hold aggro off the BLM or the Summoners, bombs exploded until we got 4 stacks of fire resistence down and there were mobs close to one hitting the Paladin tank when my Benediction killed the DRK, because you know, animation lock is still a thing nowadays.
We got it on the first try though, with me sitting at less than 100 MP after the caster LB.
Fast 20min Brayflox run, though I'm the center of the horror story since I blew all my MP on stoneskins(hence my last topic) and the boss fight was just ugh. However, the MCH had to run his mouth saying it was terrible and yet I was babysitting him the entire run. Tank was on my server(and clearly had a bad mood from the start of the run) and I thanked her for the quick run, and apologized for OOM so early in the fight -.-.
Infact, years of bad groups in FFXI has made me approach things with a "meh" attitude to anything I've dealt with so far that would probably be a big deal to other healers. I've had paper tanks, and a lalafell mch who took all her gear off, and went at it naked, etc, no grit darks. Yet I say nothing lol. Oh the pull before-tanks-DPS taking LOADS of damage real fast are my favorites.
Another bad brayflox run and I'm part of the blame at least for the first boss. The tank was seriously under geared. This was apparent on the first pull and the damage she was tanking was way more than any other tank I've looked after so far. It didn't help that she was also a PLD, but I don't fault her for this as they struggle til lvl40. That being said, she was losing aggro all over place despite repeated flashes. I was very tired already after playing all day, so my mind wasn't where it was supposed to be for the first boss. I'm on sleep duty for the boss, but I cast wrong thing and we wipe, blah. Second attempt, I'm back in my grove, but the primary problem with the tank was chaotic for this fight.. It was a telling sign of how the next 2 bosses were going to be. When a debuff come up, I just know casting esuna could mean death anyway..as it means I'm not casting cure/cure II.
Skipping the second boss because that was tanked by the DPS mostly heh who were easier to heal..
Last boss, LOTS OF WIPES. I was not fooled by the little damage she was taking at first as I suspected that if she did not dodge the frontal AOE, she was going to take ridiculous amount of damage. Sure enough, each time she didn't dodge, near instant kill. If I didn't cast esuna first, DOT would kill her, but if I didn't cast cure II first, auto attack would kill her. 50% chance of her dying regardless of what I do. Then came the demoralizing moment of just saying fuck it all, and chain cast cure II amd keeping her topped off as much as possible. You're probably thinking my MP is flying out the window. It wasn't, that is until Aiatar begins spitting at everyone and now I'm having to cure the entire party + keeping the Grim Reaper from paying her a visit every 5 seconds. She drops 2 times in this fight. That second time I had no more MP.
MCH leaves and we get a BRD. Same thing, this time she's not dodging any AOE at all. I just...CANT keep her alive. She drops and I just leave her there, and the BRD is tanking and..very easy to keep alive.
I'll give her credit that she hung in there and had a good attitude mostly, she was low on morale though - giving the go ahead for us to leave, but I didn't want to since I did contribute to this bad run, and was only fair to see it through.
For a second there I thought this was about me xD
Been running Brayflox all night as a new tank, and I felt so sorry for the healers who had to take care of me and my less-than-adequate gear.
But then I read about her being a PLD and losing theat and wiping several times and I felt relieved..^^
We're on different data centers I think. On the first pull, I sorta hinted that I knew it was gonna be a bad run, when I said "sigh, no divine seal, shroud of saints, regen, gotta love being synced ;p" as I needed ALL three of those badly >.<
Joined a random DF in Tam Tara the other day and got teamed up with a newbie tank and his DPS friend who was showing him the ropes. All was perfectly fine, the tank did quite well.
Since it's Tam Tara, I heal in Cleric Stance and don't even bother turning it off for heals, fairy does fine on her own and nobody was ever in any danger of dying. However, the DPS friend decided that I was a newb healer who was giving a bad example to the tank and I got booted for "not doing the maximum healing I can do".
