Rongi recommended Audacity to me, it works really well considering my only mic is my laptop's built in one. :P

To add on to that, look for the Lame add on, it will allow you to export as mp4. Also, look up on how to do noise removal if you have a sensitive mic, and place a piece of tissue paper or really thin toilet paper over your mic to prevent pops from P's and b's.
