Post Your Healing Horror Stories.

Not exactly healing related but.. First time in Aetherochemical research facility. I go in say hello and inform everyone that I'm a firsttimer. No answer but w/e. Tank is very well geared PLD (190+ ilvl). He proceeds and pulls A LOT. I manage to heal and even throw some dps in process. Everything goes smooth and fast, we kill two bosses without any problems. We reach last boss and there is a story cs there for like 30 seconds or so. I proceed to watch it to see that they've engaged.... I thought that if they want to proceed without me then okay. They wipe to tons of aoe even before I finish watching the cs. after I said that it wasn't very wise to engage when healer is viewing cutscene tank goes apeshit and curses me for slowing the run... Then proceeds to kick me. I found another group and finished it without a problem, but seriously you really can't wait 1 whole minute for a person to watch story in a story driven game? :/ it's not lvl 50 msq raids with 20 minutes of cs, it's literally less than one minute. I feel guilty and afraid of being yelled at every time I watch cs really...and since I'm a healer party will definitely wipe if they engage without me... But they still do it

Well, I thought about it but I was a little shocked so just ignored it. I actually don't even know how to report lol

So today I ran Brayflox NM with my hubby and his friend. I went as astrologian and my hubby and his friend went as ninja. I should have know this run was going to be bad as soon as the warrior ran off without waiting for me to buff him. It went well.... However the warrior didn't use any defensive buffs aside from defiance. Also this warrior didn't even try to save any goblins for extra loot or exp. Mind you this was his/her only high level tank job and sucked at it. Hubby asked if he/she is leveling why skip the mobs.Warrior replied Saying:" I'm only here for leveling roulette bonus" and kept going. My hubby and his friend are leveling as well so any exp would have helped.

So we get to last boss it starts off okay with tank standing in every aoe. I'm healing and curing the poison off so much I didn't notice my MP running low until the whole party started to get poisoned. My hubby gets killed twice and I end up with no mp to raise or aoe heal. Needless to say we kill boss and the tank gives a comm to my hubby. lol XD

The icing on the cake? I was venting to one of my FC mates about this bad tank and hubby's friend who is also apart of the FC says: "You still haven't gotten over that?" No! I have not! You who didn't even use goad (my hubby did) or had a hard time shouldn't be tell me (the healer) to get over it when you didn't do damn thing to help me!:mad:

Remembered a real horror story for me as a healer. I think personal fail stories count also xD
So after 59 levels I've actually decided to become a pro and remap A and D keys from turn to strafe...
Going to the library, not a first time, been running it for a while for 60. First boss. Ice. Im pressing D and W to casually slide to the right and forward... Instead I end up in the freaking book. By the time I realize it's too late I'm dead. No big deal, going second time, I pay attention and turn with my mouse. Success. Another ice and I derped a bit so I start pressing keys fast and...end up in a damn book again. Another wipe. One dps leaving and I feel extremely ashamed because the boss has literally three mechanics. Okay, whatever, it's gonna git gud this time for sure. Got replacement dps and went again, everything goes smoothly boss is almost dead. Ice. Muscle memory... Guess what, in the book again!!! After that tank just left. I was so embarrassed I didn't know what to do so I just typed in I'm sorry and miserably fled from that dungeon :( thought about changing profession. Decided to stick around afterall. Ran it like 20 times since and no problems at all. But it's still one of my nightmare dungeons, every time I see this freaking book demon my hands tremble a little :D

Boy, have I got a doozie for you guys!



Today, I was levelling my WHM after getting my SCH and AST to Lv. 60. After getting into a levelling roulette queue, I find myself paired up with a French DRK and NIN, and a SMN who I could understand. The tank kept losing aggro to me just from me applying my DoTs and slapping Regen on him after he finished a pull. The run moved at a snail's pace, all while the DRK and NIN were talking to each other in their native tongue while I tried to tune it out or encourage them to at least speak in English since they did show some understanding of the language.

Skip ahead to Coincounter (you can already see where this is heading). Just from maintaining my DoTs, HoT, and DPSing, I kept pulling aggro from the DRK. Even after using Shroud of Saints, the boss finds its way back to me. To make matters worse, the DRK and NIN keep on dying to 100-tonze Swing. I asked why the tank was losing aggro to me, which he responded with "maybe there's a reason ;)" After four wipes and some words exchanged between the DRK and NIN in their mother language, I decided I had enough and initiated a vote dismissal against the tank for hindering the run's progress after I explicitly told him why he was ruining the experience for the party. It passed, and soon after the NIN left leaving me alone with the SMN who sympathized and communicated with me. It was funny to see the NIN leave too, as I assumed they were friends with the DRK. Those two players were the weakest links in that party, and the SMN and I were glad to be rid of them.

After that, a lolDRG joined us and I got help from a FC WAR to clear the rest of the dungeon with his Savage Raid-tier tanking and balls-to-the-wall mass pulls. The moral of the story: never be afraid to exercise a kick against the weakest links if it's for the betterment of the party, especially against French players who are too bad at the game to carry.

Before anyone asks, I'm xenophobic against the majority of French players due to similar experiences in the past. It's a shame because there's a minority of them who are actually decent, but a large portion of them are absolutely dreadful.

Back in the day the first time I was leveling my healer (Scholar) to 50 going into Aurum Hell pet dies like 5 times due to standing in a puddle when i didnt notice and my fairy grabbing hate on stray adds. Got to a point where there were too many mobs around us. Lost my pet and too much incoming damage all i could do was spam succor. Got vote kicked after that one pull my first time healing that place

Nothing to say against, but I've noticed the aggro with Coincounter is a bit odd at times, dunno why but suddenly my aggro as a Tank is either reduced or resetted at odd points of the fight even if I was spamming the aggro combo just fine, a melee DPS sometimes ends up ripping it off of me.

So if you were already taking things off the Tank just by doing normal stuff, paying a closer look to the aggro meter for this fight may actually help you deal with situations like this O_o;; (well, except when they are hit by the carrousel-of-the-trololol-wipes)

Just as an FYI, Coincounter does have a hate reset move. The text "Coincounter is reconsidering his options" or something to that effect will show up and that causes a enmity reset on the party. This is usually followed up by an attack (I can't recall the name) where he fires a 270 degree ranged AoE towards a random player before resuming normal attacks. This is the opportunity for Tank to reestablish hate.

So, the DRK in question isn't necessary wrong with his (admittedly Sassy) comment about "maybe there's a reason ;)". Was still a terrible tank for the rest of the run though, looking at it.
