Black Mage Sanctuary - A Guide to DPS

Its entirely up to you on how youd want to open. I open with b3-enoch to boost thunder 3 and by the time im finished with my fire phase Foul will be up during ice phase.

But again how i open my rotation always depends entirely on the boss fight. For example the full b3 F4x8 opener is garbage vs a certain end dungeon boss at 70.

But amazing vs the other.

Or opening with t3-f3 wont leave you with enough mp vs a certain boss mechanic in a certain section which could unfortunately mean you caused your team to get that much closer to a wipe.

I wish i could explain further but ppl flip over spoilers so this is the best i can do. T3-f3 is the best pps opener but there are times you dont want to do that.

Is it really worth to start with B3 – T4 – B4 since we already have full mana? I just dish out my mana with a 6 F4 opener. With that start I have a Foul stack at UI which is pretty handy. So my opener would be
Sharp - LL - pre pull F3 - F4 - F4 - F1 - F4 - F4 - F3 proc - convert - F4 - F4 - B3 - B4 - T4 - Foul - F3 etc

Looks like Sharp+F1 wins.. for now. I haven't studied what happens post-opener with the timing of Foul being different for either opener. Will try to get it done during the weekend. :S

Made a few mistakes:
1. Sharp+F1 - the first F1 should be 180 potency.
2. Potencies are not buffed by Enoch.

Given the mistakes, Sharp+F1 still wins.

Sorry, what do you mean by a 0 convert? Do you mean GCD? I don't know the time a Convert takes GCD-wise so I placed it at 0. Given that both openers are using Convert I thought it would be irrelevant if we were aiming to find out which of the two has better PPS.

Or do you mean me to take out Convert out of the opener?

Taking out Convert takes out the succeeding two F4s. That's leaves both openers at 170.72 and 180.42 PPS respectively.

Your Foul would not be up at that point.

0 SS calcs.

Foul usage is still kind of a question mark when you don't start with B3, but I think you should always be able to use one in ice without missing any uses.

Soslinky, the B3 opener has the advantage of getting the Foul at the end of the opener, in Umbral where you want it, whereas the Sharpcast opener is going to get it while they are in Astral. In addition, if you add a Foul to your B3 opener, it comes ahead with about 2 potency more.

Using Foul while in Astral is pretty bad, and sitting on it for another 20 seconds is pretty shit as well while you get back to Umbral.
