The server is full, try again later (1017)

What pisses me off more than anything is when I try to log in and the fucking loading screen comes up for a good 30 seconds, then that god damned Error 1017. Its like SquareShit is saying "oh hey we are going to let you play no. HAHAHAHA JUST KIDDING SUCK ON ONE OF OUR FROZEN CUM COVERED TURDS!!!!"

I do wonder how much the population will increase once it's open to all buyers. Possibly double? Regardless of the exact size, the flood is going to be enormous. The worst part of this is knowing that the only thing that's going to happen is that it's going to get a hell of a lot worse. And by time things start getting better, the damage done might make ARR's reputation unrepairable.

Seriously SE, tell someone they're fired unless they find a way to kick all the AFKers. if they stand in the same spot without doing an action for 5 minutes, warning. otherwise kick them if they don't respond by 10 minutes.

i thought the emergency maintenance (#6 i think) last night was going to be the (final) fix

Tried to log in a bit before class (7am HST) and got "world full". Tried again when I came back to my place for lunch (1230 HST)...still full. About to go to the lab (14:20), and STILL get error 1017. This is ridiculous. Give us a queue to log in for christ sake.

I mean what is SE doing to fix this?? It seems as though all they are doing is waiting for people to literally quit playing the game (for good) so the servers are less congested. What sort of a business model is that? Why when you have failed once already would you make such a mistake at the re-launch of your game?

4 hours of error 1017 makes me a mad panda.

This is beyond frustrating. Because I log in at peak times I cannot play with my friends/family that play on Ultros. After 2 days none of them want to start over. Honestly at this point I think I would like a refund and I'll go play any game that I can actually play.

The bulk of the players aren't even playing yet! Most people aren't going to be in on the early access. This is the kind of problem that KILLS MMOs square. If you can't put in a competent queue system at the very least, Three, four whole points will be knocked off reviews. There also needs to be an auto-disconnect timer.

Thank heavens I logged out in a Sanctuary. Gonna be fun burning down all that bonus xp.... provided we ever get back in game for a reasonable amount of time. 30 minutes to an hour once a day after midnight just isn't going to cut it when you have to work 44 hours a week (or more for some).

I got disconnected while zoning yesterday before 3pm. I was not able to log in to that character up until 10pm when I went to sleep... came home from work today and been getting "we don't even want to bother letting you wait in queue error 1017" from 7 pm till 7:45 pm... still getting the message now. I paid an extra $10 to get the pre-order early login and have been denied most of day one, most of day two, and now the remainder of day three?

I actually got into a queue twice. There were 33 the first time and 26 the second time. After waiting for about five minutes it gave me 1017. Talk about false hope, lol!

First off I can not believe how some people are acting. When how many thousand people are trying to log on all at the same time problems are going to occur. the are far fewer of devs then there are player by far. I'm sure they are doing the best that they can to fix all the issues. This is an unfortunate but common problem with mmo's. don't like it, don't play mmo's. I would like to be playing too, but that isn't quite possible at this moment, and I'm not going to cancel my pre-order, or write nasty letters to SE, because ffxiv is, to me anyway, a really fun game. Now how about you all quit crying, suck it up, and act like adults, and try to do something productive... like stop trying to log in every 3 seconds. That does make it harder for them to fix the problem.

I'm sure it's been suggested but there are players who would take a server transfer if it'll help. We really just want to play with the toons we've spent some time building up already. Having back up toons on JP servers is annoying, we'd rather spend the time on our main toons.

Your ignorance knows no bounds. You see, this would be the case if it was a launch day problem, but guess what? It isn't. It's a problem that showed up even in early access, which is absolutely absurd, considering how much time SE has had to polish this game. The fact that you can't even see that is astounding.

um.... you do realize that thousands upon thousands will be logging on at the same time every day after official launch. In fact, it may be even more than we have now. This is just the pre-order crowd. you know, the people that starting buying their licenses up to a month in advance (or earlier). Not like SE didn't know ahead of time how many people would be logging in... I mean, not like they didn't already have a successful run with a previous game in the franchise that at one time had exceeded 1 million active subs in one year.

Just saying... have to put things into proper perspective here, seeing as some may not be grasping the big picture.
