Healers who resurrect you then leave you to get knocked down by the next raid wide AOE.
If you’re going to res someone, heal them to full health straight away. Don’t be a numpty
When running on DRG, the healer would rescue me to the 2nd meteor before the first had ever gone off... after having already seen me successfully Elusive Jump from 1st to 2nd so that I could maintain uptime. And they messed up once pulling me into the hit instead...
* Healers who will not DPS (As a former healer main I DESPISE this with a passion)
* Tanks who single pull (In super early dungeons I sort of get it, but by the time tanks get their AoE they should be chain pulling)
* Farm groups in PF who set minimum ilvl super high thinking that will make clean runs
Button what sometimes pops up to do click, click and so on, that thing is so annoying.
This may have been said already, and it isn't really bad or anything just kind of annoying. Someone who is jumping on the tables going out of their way to jump on your character the chair they are sitty on, I am unsure why this bothers me sometimes. It may be due to the random flash of colors across the screen making me feel woozy when awaiting queue to pop.
Though silly story a friend who is a lala was sitting down in The Roost waiting for another friend. They were just getting into the game and literally the first time the sit down for a moment someone came running out of their inn room just to stand inside/ontop of their character and go afk. I know I have run through others characters before, but it is just something that may bother me. I guess it breaks emersion a bit as well.
Oh on a side note that one lala voice in every town that plays on repeat every couple of moments. 'wuuuawaauu' I had to mute my ambient because it was too repetitive.
I wish they had a jumping limit so players couldn't jump everywhere like children high on chocolate.
I also hate it when guilds send random FC invites. There should be a feature that lets you auto-reject. /busy works but it's an ugly icon
I dislike how this game doesn't have "PRIVATE" mode; meaning I'd like to login without others knowing and play in peace if I just feel like it. There's always a red carpet and invitations the second I login and it's tiring.
Random unsolicited FC invites from people who don't check my search info first. Especially those who send two invites (by sending one almost immediately after I reject their initial invite). The lack of an FC tag on my name isn't a fluke or just me not having found "the right one" yet. It is a conscious decision to not join any FCs because I am a chronic server-hopper. Fortunately, the closer I am to endgame areas the less likely I am to receive an FC invite.
Oh aye, my mom had to go busy when she first started to play because people in Ul'dah were voracious. There was also someone she said she could picture sitting on a throne within their estate sending them out in bulk because she player searched them to see where they were to tell them to stop. They were in the private estate just spam sending invites to people. I would think that would not be a good way to acquire fc mates, but some fc's seem to not care of quality over quantity.
People that pretend to be nice and part of the good FF14 community then unleash the beast of their nihilistic misanthropy the moment they're tilted.
Ugh maaahhhh this one gets me tooooo I do not know why it bothers me so. Something about personal space, I know it is digital space but still. Please do not stand on my lala, it is quite rude.
You can play the floor is lava without leaping upon my table.
Wish to know something fricken amazing? Sometimes you get these even when within an fc already. My partner (who founded our fc) has received several..
The way you phrased this is magnificent good sir. "Unleash the beast of their nihilistic misanthropy", I shall store this for later use! :D
D/Cing in the middle of a really tense and interesting cutscene, just happened :(
Stagnation and those that desire it for the sake of their delusion of accessibility.
Always ask for improvement and expansion, never ask for reversion and reduction
Healers not healing. People constantly randomly tabbing out/afking in group content and people who form cliques/friend circles in FC's and ignore anyone that isn't a part of it.
SGE shields overwriting SCH shields. I knew this was coming, but for goodness sake SE... it's just AST Noct Sect all over again. Removed that from AST, gave SGE a shield that still negates SCH shields. Raggle Fraggle.
The only thing that truly annoys me, is the fact on how ignorant large portions of the Community (including the devs) are about any form of large scale suggestions in regards to Gameplay aspects of the Game.
Just because something works, doesnt necessarily mean it is good.
Scholars as raid co-healers...
I know there are probably great SCH out there, but for some reason I'm always stuck with leechers.
All they do is cast Broil, while they leave me to do about 90-95% of the heals. How do I know? If I don't heal, someone in the group dies to a raid wide or tankbuster.
They never stop casting Broil. And before you say, they're good, well I'd rather bring a co-healer that has some AoE heal that can be weaved every now and then,
than having to drop everything to hardcast Helios after pretty much popping every AoE insta I have on my kit, including Minor Arcana.
That feels wrong.
If 1 or 2 people happen to die, the SCH is not gonna drop that Broil to rez, and that person could stay on the floor for an indefinite amount of time until I yield and hardcast that rez.
Oh, and I forget they even got shields, they never pop one besides in their opener.
I still can't find a reason to bring a SCH over WHM or SGE. The sprint is just meh. I don't know, maybe I'm just jelly that they can leech off me lol.
machinist doing backflip/roll when they do their 1-2-3 combo, in my mind machinist is like engineer like cid and doing gadget stuff, being nimble is the last thing i have about machinist lol
and gunbreaker, still got turn off by the "hit" sound effect, didnt sound like sword at all, more like i hit someone with baseball bat
I'd say the opposite is just as annoying, if not moreso. Here I am with a nice Zoe buffed Eukrasian Prognosis trying to get some of that sweet, sweet addersting nectar in the first few moments of a fight, only for Scholar McGee to immediately overwrite my buffed shields with their dinky Succor.
It's only happened to me once so far, but man was it tilting.
I have started to think it is by design to force people to make sure they dont 'stack' healer types cuz OP or something. I would love nothing more than to change it from being overwritten to the effect being decreased by atleast 50% or something so that it still stacks but isnt OP and certainly isnt wasted. As someone who mains both shieldhealers, the pain is real....
You are entirely missing the point. They removed the shield from AST as mentioned, only to give it to another shield healer which just overwrites it again. Unlike some, I don't cast shields if I see a shield is up because I know how obnoxious that is from dealing with it for years, but it sounds like the opposite with you. Yes, SE clearly doesn't want stacking shields, but that just makes for frustrating gameplay when part of a kit it negated entirely.
Healers that refuse to DPS.
Is it now alright to say that it is not okay for players to not know how to play - at all - in level 90 content? Like I feel like by level 90, it's pretty ridiculous. Being first timers to content is one thing, but also not knowing how to play is another. I'm not talking about perfect gameplay either, but like doing more than bare minimum. As in using AoE skills, etc..
"clear for a friend"
Constant itching on...nm
When BLMs use Lucid Dreaming.
When I queue as healer for group content and I get paired with a healer who does the bare minimum or below the bare minimum.
You don't have to even be a toon with melee positionals for that to be annoying... Oh hey, thanks for that free tank cleave BTW, can I get a rez? Oh wait, I was the healer... right...
That noted... I was this tank just the other day on some trash pulls because I couldn't get them lined up in front of me and I kept having to move around for more of them coming and I was sitting there watching our monk have a heck of a time with it...
When tanking:
- I hate when there's that one add that sits at my 190-210 degree position and then moves partly into my toon when I'm tanking... no matter how I try to position...
- I hate that there's that one add that even though it's in front of me, seems to always walk into my toon forcing me to backup so I can hit it because the game randomly decides it's on my front or back even though I have under 50-ping and no latency...
When DPSing:
- See the monk poster above. Like... move when you gotta move, but buddy stay put otherwise.
When Healing:
- So like... I'm back here because I was doing something or something happened, and you're way up there, out of my range, pulling 10 more adds. And that's fine if you got mitigation buttons, but I see you forgot to keybind ANY of them. So yeah...
- Hey tank, we aren't playing hide and seek. Yeah, I am playing seek, but I'd rather be casting.
- Hey other healer, it's great that you know how to DPS, but is that the ONLY thing you put on your keybinds?
When on anything
- Hey tank, you are allowed to have aggro on more than one enemy at a time. In fact if you pull 101 of them, it's kinda preferred that you get threat on them as well. Every tank job gets an AoE skill before the level of the first dungeon so... use it.
- Hey you, if you have that icon over you head that says a bad thing is going to drop where you're standing - that is NOT the time to stack on the healer. And if I run out of it, don't chase me down...
- Hey you with the stack marker over your head, why are you running away from all of us?
- Can somebody rez that guy over there? Like we have 2 healers and 4 red mages... so... what exactly is going on here?
- Oh great, my Duty Finder queue that I've been waiting 372 minutes for just popped with a 30 second timer to accept, and this cutscene that reveals EVERYTHING has 31 seconds to go...
That's some bad luck, because SCH has a ton of AoE heals and shields - both instant and hardcast.
I was with you until this because I've seen what you're noting from pretty much all of the healer jobs. Don't blame the class, blame the luck of your roulette getting you bad players.
I predict that by mid-expansion, the popular class to get blamed for this will be sage - because they have just a tiny bit more DPS rotation than the others, and the tooltips make less experienced players think it's a "copy of the WoW discipline priest". It might be Scholar getting the blame now, but in time people will assume it's the sage getting "too in the zone"...
Though Sage also has an insanely good instant cast healing toolset. Which I have already seen some players totally ignore... ;)
A little gripe I've had while playing through Endwalker's main scenario, is companion chocobos crowded ontop of quest npcs which makes targeting the npc very difficult to almost impossible - how hard is it to dismiss your chocobo when you don't need it (like when inside a town or hamlet on a quest?). Gyshal greens are hardly expensive so that's not even an excuse for keeping them out. It should be common courtesy to dismiss the chocobo when speaking to quest npcs so this does not happen.
But it's a minor thing so I don't know, maybe I'm just getting less and less tolerant of minor nitpicks like that.
Tried doing extremes again. Went pretty well all things considered, but the typical party finder stuff happened, of course. Pretty good prog group, we were mostly getting it down for our first few tries, then the healer just up and leaves, and then that prompts everybody else to leave too. Back to square one. If I am going to actually do any extreme+ content again, I am going to have to find an actual group or something, because this is just going to end up burning me out on them again. :(
The sheer amount of pointless cutscenes this game has. It gets soporific sometimes.
The super long queue times when only get 2 to 3 hours a day to play.
People pulling for me while I'm tanking. and then get mad because I let them die. and then continue pulling for me.
Players who have the inability to handle criticism for themselves and the game.
Sages that don't cast Kardia at all (yup...) and only use Eukrasia on Dosis and nothing else.
Like, ok I get it, Sage is the new Glare Mage and no one wants to actually cast a heal, but at LEAST toss out Kardia to help someone not die a horrible screaming death of chronic sword-to-the-spleenitis? (also, you'd actually do MORE DPS if you toss out some shields, because Toxicon's a thing...)
