Request to unlock Hempen set styles

I'd just like to see these sets unlocked, even if they weren't to be available for all genders initially. It's been more than long enough, and there are some great pieces here that everyone should be able to use.

I was hoping for male Viera to get the Miqo'te gear, but they got Midlander. It would be nice to get access to the other things.

Yoshida's busy. We'll have to ask again in another 5 years or so.

There are posts in the current thread for the next LLP questions asking for these to be unlocked. Please hit the like button for those posts. One is fairly early in the thread and the other that I noticed was in the 60s?

I want the catgirl hempen chest piece so bad. That's literally the only reason I would go catgirl is for that chest piece T_T

I would LOVE to have the hempen sets.

They are not iconic enough to "represent" a race. C'mon... a tank top, a camisole?...

However they have an amazing quality of being great standalone pieces to complement other sets!

Still advocating they DON'T do this.
Or at the very least give us some other RSE. There's not enough as it is.

I’d be down for this if the hempen stuff was actually race specific in the first place. Or if it reflected racial roots better. The majority of them are just generic clothes. Several are identical.

Nothing about my wild bondage wear really screams “Highlander” to me.

I'm still for it. I don't hate the idea of race locked gear, but lets not pretend the game goes out of it's way to make you actually feel connected to your races culture or homeland at all. the Hempen sets really don't allude to any deeper cultural meanings and the precedent of two races using the same set is already a thing.

How about before more race locked gear we actually get access earlier to all of the races homelands and then design armor befitting their culture so it actually fits and makes sense like the GC uniforms? Instead of just "lmao more race locked cuz muh youneeqnus"

Because how likely is it SE are going to do that? They can't be bothered to fix Viera and Hrothgar for 3 years but sure creating our races homeland with race armour is realistic.

It's been years, they would have unlocked it by now.

Male bunny suits. One outfit for all the male races took forever. with the hempen sets we're talking about a lot more than that.

I'm not holding my breath for them to unlock the sets, but if some part of their team has been working on it at all I'm not surprised it'd take so long since it's likely a low priority and a fairly large task as well considering how many outfits there are. And I also wouldn't be surprised at all if SE would be dabbling in removing their gender locks as well, which just adds a whole new layer of dev time as they'd likely have to once again call on their female devs to work on ones that make the male devs uncomfortable.

What uniqueness? Most of them are basically generic Target brand undies and a grab bag of tank top flavors. If they were actually even remotely visually representative of any race then sure I'd agree, I don't think they should unlock the racial starter gear for example, but these are... not. I mean, Viera literally don't even have their own. They're already sharing with Hyur. And I'm pretty sure Hrothgar are sharing with another race too. Which sucks for two reasons because now you have exactly three (soon to be four) looks unlocked AND no new looks for the new races. While the rest are still locked.

Instead of SE wasting their time and going back to remove race-lock, why not just move forward and create more unique, high quality items? Regardless, I don't see unlocking Hempen gear as a big deal - how often do you see anyone actually wear any of it? Considering you're the 3rd person to mention that to me in the past 2 hours, yeah - I think I got that.

If you read my previous response you'll see why else I don't care for unlocking the Hempen set.

I don't mind it, considering that other than the actual race starting gear there isn't much differentiating the gear that the races wear. Hell the fact that the Hempen shirt looks so amazing on female Elezen is one of the best things about them.

Simple enough, those "more unique, high quality items" require more work than resizing these, and you still have the same quantity result of one more top that your character can wear.

It's not wasting time if people want it, and the item models already exist so theoretically they can just work whatever magic they do when they create gear for basic human shape first and convert it to fit all the other races.

Plus the items would get more use overall if everyone had access to every style, because that means there are seven chances for the designs to work with your glamours instead of one. (Really, have you seen how nice the Elezen camise looks? Or Miqo'te being a simple halterneck top? I think they would get a lot of use.)

Also, some races just get stuck with weird hempen outfit styles and it would be nice for them to not be walled in to only having that one style available.

Would that be an actual problem? Aside from a number of the male styles being physically unviable for female bodies within the game's rating, at least...

I think it would be less likely to happen, though. More redesign work for the devs, and I think people would be calling for it now if they wanted it.

First paragraph - fair enough. I stand by not seeing the racial lock adding much in this case, because there's nothing about them that really screams a certain style beyond "casual" or "cutesy" or... borderline lingerie I guess lol (at least for the female versions anyway).

To the rest of your points, I don't really see it as a big deal or a priority either. It's just something that would be nice and that I'd personally like to see. I don't see why they can't add new items and also refit these though, even if it takes longer.

It also isn't about fairness for me, it's just about having a preference for the looks. I actually really like the fem Miqo and fem Midlander versions, but I very rarely play Midlander and have fantasiad back and forth between Miqo, au ra, and Viera (when available) for years. I'm not a fan of the au ra version because it's a little more frilly and works with fewer glamours, but I can do a lot with the other two. I especially use the hempen shirt a lot when I'm fem Miqo. I'd like to be able to use it when I swap, and especially think it'd look good on Viera. Who are already sharing a look anyway.
