Matt Hardcore is a hardcore FFXIV player. He's retired and has a lot of free times, so he usually manages about 4-5 hours of gametime per day. He's max rank in all DoW classes, and most of the others aren't too far behind. He averages about 4 hours per day.
The next large patch is released, and with it we see the first class-specific armor and weapon sets released. Playing like he normally does, Matt manages to nab about three pieces per week, and he comples the entire set in about 3 weeks.

Jenni Casual is a casual FFXIV player. She's a single mother with a bit of family support, so her free time is limited, but she normally averages 3-5 hours on the weekend to get her FFXIV fix. She's max rank conjurer, and most of her other jobs are hovering around R15.

See how that works? We don't want stuff given to us, we just want access. Same amount of work, just over a different time frame that fits our play style.
