Best DPS class in the game?

I hope this is sarcasm because every datas shows that if there were no movement in fights, BLM would be N°1 Dps.

It is sarcasm in the summoner feedback thread we have one person who says summoner is the best single target and that black mage is one of the lowest dps. Personally I am done responding to her the very fact that there is huge debate on summoner shows that there is issues.

FYI I said BRD is the highest. It was the highest In B3, and it got huge buffs. There's really no contest.

And BLM is one of the lowest ST.

My mistake but honestly I still can't understand or can agree with your opinion on black mages since its pretty much proven they are one of the best dps classes. As Salaster said if they were no movements in fights they would be number 1.


Edit:Eckoh bards are that good? Well after leveling an archer to 15 to unlock black mage I have to say I can see why they have crazy good dps. Still I don't believe black mages have the lowest dps.

I suggest you seek information about dps rankings, look streams, etc.

In pure Single Target, the parses show that it is :

BLM > BRD > SMN > DRG > MNK > PLD > WAR


(look at this for instance)

From that link the only thing i see is that drg is 1st in many dungeons.

From eckoh's parse I see the drg is 800 dmg behind the BRD....on a moving encounter, kinda ok.

DRG MNK BLM BRD etc...all the jobs can dish a lot of dmg, some fight will advantage 1 job over the others, fair imo.

Is this a joke?

This factors in the whole dungeon(aka AoE situations), and even then there were BRD runs that were better(without BLM, with MNK), and a SMN/MNK run cleared almost as fast, and MNK is the worst AoE in the game, and SMN is "supposedly" weak AoE.

Edit: and even when you look at Wanderer's Palace(level 50 dungeon), many groups scored more/faster then a BLM group.

All of the data on that website is meaningless until we get a huge sample size, because it has no standards. It has time, and some arbitrary score. It has no indication of gear, pre-made vs, pug, etc.

even stationary a black mage is not going to beat me. Also i HIGHLY doubt we are going to have many tank and spank fight after seeing what content is out there right now.

You also cannot go be dungeon parses as nothing is long enough to matter. You have to look at the 8 man stuff at this point and look at boss fight not trash fights.

If you read the parse both the top black mage and the dragoon on my parse used limit breaks. In the video that goes with that parse you see the black made use his AoE limit that did over 4k to 3 mobs at the same time and then in the final burn the dragoon used a 1 bar limit which did over 3700 damage. The black mages and dragoons in my guild are beyond good players we are working on being the best period. So you are going to see what the best players are putting out, not parses of players who might not have a clue what they are doing in a mid level dungeon.

True, but garuda at the end is much a kiting fight, brds get a huge advantage, so it depends a lot on the fight.

and...tbh brd is really a no-brain job, much easier to deal max possible dmg.
