We can recommend activities and have them get shot down until the cows come home, but no forum post is going to decide for you yourself if the game is worth playing. That's between you and whatever connections you have in game. -

Secondly I am a leader of a FC so most of what you are suggesting isn't something I can do and I'm also enjoying Alexander farming with my members but overall its just lackluster and seems like a rushed expansion and others agree with me with this, the devs aint machines but they could of delayed the expansion because it clearly doesn't have enough content but it was released early because it's a good business decision to get the expansion out during the summer holidays when people have more freetime to play. -

If you were lucky enough to have 5 other dependable people on your same time schedule for months that would do things EXCLUSIVELY with each other then thats awesome. For me any story progression would take tons of time even getting to the location by going through areas where anything can kill you to get to a boss that you might not beat due to 1 or 2 inexperienced players. All I am saying is I would much rather have content I can progress through at my own pace and does not punish me for not having said static. The give and take here is that content doesnt feel "epic" and if you have an organized group you will plow through it.Quote:

There will never be "enough content" for those who insist on rushing through everything right out of the gate. No matter how much the devs give us, they will blaze through it in a week or two and then complain about being bored.
The game isn't a race. You don't win anything for getting through everything as fast as possible. If that's how you want to play, go right ahead, but then don't complain when you run out of things to do. -
07-15-2015, 11:16 AMZellosWilderTook maybe 2-3 months from start to finish tbh I was in the same boat as you at first I could not get into the story because it required others to be able to progress through I did the promies from CoP with random players that I shouted for, while the groups never always won we still had alot of fun doing them. Eventually when playing FFXI you start to realise that you can't play the game on your own so I went looking for a LS and eventually got invited to one and they were also struggling with some of missions some were ahead of me and some were behind so I went bk to the promies again to help them out so that we could progress altogether we ended up becoming friends doing so and we all played at our own pace as we weren't hardcore players nobody was pushing anyone to finish anything. We were all noobs as well nobody was experienced enough to know everything but we stuck together and eventually finished it the journey and the experience was epic.Quote:

MMOs are not like a single player game that you buy and get all the content for immediately and play through in a month or two. If this game did that people would unsub after getting through the content, and that's not the point of an MMO. Usually (as I've seen in WoW at least) the first patch is there to introduce the new land, let you try out new races, give a few new dungeons and raid bosses and most importantly give you a chance to level up all of your characters or in this case classes. Heavensward did all of that and combined with the fact that this game has a patch cycle as short as 3 months, I think there's a sufficient amount of things to do.Quote:

This MMO is not tailored for end-game-only playstyle. The armory system encourages to play all classes, so why not level up some alternative jobs when you are done with gearing up. There's also gathering and crafting, both of which have a unique system of rotations, gearing up and cross class skills. All classes also got additions to their own quest lines. Alts and professions are very traditional MMO activities and if you choose to ignore them, part of the blame for running out of things to do is on yourself. -

Ok well, im not bored after 3 weeks. Maybe its cause i do do all that optional stuff you think doesn't count for longevity.
On a "day off", yeah, i can go through quite a lot of leveling, but the pace you are claiming i do not relate with(even if there are some in my fc that do level really fast, like my fc leader.)
Success isn't a failure of the game designer. -

To elaborate more on my early post that too much change too quickly will put off players.
I just hit 59. I'm already struggling with all the new buttons. Introducing new systems so soon would be a bad idea.
Anything new will have to wait for future patches after everyone has settle in.
