I never once said your intentions were to do it, I said stop.
Just because you don't mean for something to happen when you do something that will cause something to happen, doesn't mean it won't happen if you continue to do it.

I get along with well articulated people even if their opinion differ from mine. What I don't like is crying people who think everyone and the world is against them and that we are just there to impose stuff and a way of playing to them.
Which is not the case.
Improving a flawed and half-assed transportation system =/= imposing a way of playing. We just want a more polished game that doesn't scream "rushed". Adding the teleport system at X level through a short quest with cutscenes and some lore tied with it would actually benefit the game and the experience in itself, adding more content and more fun. Having to get the nodes before teleporting them also adds to the fun and exploring of the game, which is a much a part of playing an MMO than doing other things.
Being able to teleport from anywhere could remain if it was explained how it could be possible when doing that quest at level 10 (i.e.).
Also, this comes down to when other mean of transportation will be made available like airships and chocobos. Why waste time on inplementing them if anyways we will teleport.
I'm sorry Crica, but since I've been following this post (When it was on page 15 I think.) Your comments have been nothing but vapid, sensationalistic, and a bit fanatical.
No one is arguing for the complete eradication of anima and teleporting in this thread (that's a different thread, and by all means, go be a fanatic over there.)
I'd even go so far as no one is trying to dictate how you should be playing the game. Some of us are even suggesting ways of making the experience richer.
I love the suggestion of needing a quest to access aetheryte teleportation, or quests to increase the amount of anima available to a person.
I'm also in favor of negating the ability for new players to be warped to crystals they've not personally visited before.
I don't think requiring we be at a crystal or a node is as big of an inconvenience as you are making it out to be. And even if you want to pretend that it is, my suggestion on page 15 was to make it more expensive if you aren't at a node... that way players can weigh the time the have available with how much anima they can/will spend to get to where they need to be.
But it's your constant barrage of denials that are causing good ideas to be overlooked, and instead of having a healthy debate about people's suggestions, about what is good or what is less good, about what could work or what would be too much of an impediment, everyone is responding to your moaning and bitching about how any change at all is people walking over your freedom to completely bypass content you decided you don't want to experience and to warp to wherever you want whenever you want as a rank 11 pug.
All you said I 100% agree with and I also think that all these suggestions only make the experience richer.
I stress that quote because I think this is a very good idea as well. A casual who doesn't play often wouldn't see much a difference if the cost was more expensive when not at a node because he doesn't play as much so he doesn't run out of animas as quick and they have time to recharge in between their use. This increased cost mostly "hurt" hardcore players who plays for a big amount of time in one seating and they have to make the choice of spending 5min to walk to a node to lower the cost (and 5min to them wouldn't be an issue) or to teleport right away at an increased cost.
I like that, and anyone with a little reason and common sense would see how it doesn't "impose" anything on you, it just favors the teleport system for casual and restrict it for hardcores. Which would be fine I think since there will be other means of transport that they can use even if they take a little bit longer.
I had thought about doing this but I didn't want to miss the time he actually came up with a good idea (or ideas) instead of constant whining but maybe I was giving him to much credit?
I really don't want to ruin his experience, and i wanted to help him understand why something so simply could be a good idea but I'm just getting nowhere... we... are getting nowhere. I'll just stop responding to him that way if he does come up with a good idea I can read it and possibly agree!
Yep :P I'll add you when the servers are back up! Fun times! BTW my husband is a mr. fussy britches about this game...He's a silent one...unless someone says something witty :o, then the silence is...*gasp!* broken! DUM DUM DUM!!! LOL
Yes see quests bring people closer together! :D
