It's just the gear icon at the bottom left, the user settings one, then from the "My account" page you just click on edit and write a new one on the username spot.

Is this on the computer version? I only have the Discord app on my phone, and on the mobile version, there is no option to edit your username. Or I’m bad at finding it.

It works the exact same on mobile, just drag out the side menu and then tap on the gear at the bottom of it, from there it's the same.

When I try it on mobile, it says my password is wrong when I try to change the username.

You can actually also change the nickname separately for each discord server you have subscribed to (which I do very often as my discord id has no similarity to my FF14 name). Just click the three dots next to the server name and then select "Change Nickname". No need to change your username.

Sheriyana said you can edit your username but I've found no such option anywhere in the app. I have since found that there's a feature to delete an account. So I'm wondering if that's what Sheriyana was referring to all along.
