It'd seem weird. Yoshi specifically pushed for male Miqo'te and female Roes back when ARR was in development as well as gave the go-ahead for male Viera in the concept art.
That'd be something odd to go back on.

I really hope there are both male and female viera.

And that they both look similar. I would hate for an Au Ra size difference type situation again.

I want the Tactics Viera most of all (I know most want the 12 version).

I'd also ADORE a birdlike race, remember the *Yagudo from XI? Obviously it would have to be different than those, but something actually beast-like rather than the cat ears from Miqo or the scales from Au Ra.

I also agree the second linked art is a little cutesy, not really looking for something like a Lala but the lithe variant we saw originally. Also, the moogles in 12/Tactics were awesome.

Do you mean the Yagudo? I'd rather the Vanu Vanu over them, honestly (while I also like Yagudo, their body and legs are... weird).

I'd be ok with shorter and slimmer viera males.
However, I'm starting to think viera might be gender locked. The leaks showed a rabbit and a lion, no? I really hope this isn't the case though.

Personally really want something just different, but as I've seen their process with Au Ra and of course we have the other races.. I have a feeling that's just never going to happen and they'll all be more similar than dissimilar (which I understand why, but still - will wish in one hand and drop kupo nuts in the other).

So I've resigned that I'll never find something I like more than a Highlander*, and just thought that the Viera fans have been pretty steady. I thought that would mean something, consistency is good.

* (I chase lalafells sometimes to get the cuteness bug out of my system sometimes /pet /pet >.>)

If they ever decide to go over the current races I'd love if they added "wild" options to the races we have available. More cat Mi'qote (like FFXI), Au Ra more beast than currently, Highlander who didn't learn about shaving their eyebrows.. you know the real wild stuff. :P

Those women! That's exactly what I was hoping for in this game, a giant female beast race. I've had a Roe since PS3 release; that doesn't do it. I was psyched when the Au Ra came, I saw the Male (creator defaults to male) and when I switched it to female I got out of my seat and threw a fit. How terribly disappointing! I heard about this 'concept art' but haven't seen it until now! URGH I want it so bad! Sorry if I posted twice in a row, I'm just replying as I go through the thread.

Gender locked races are dumb. It's why I suggested a second clan could be the Ronso/lion race. How it works, who knows.

Their Au Ra concept art is indeed /amazing/. I'd have raced changed already if it looked like that, easily. It's why I hope sometime they make a third clan on races. I'd even be for them making a third clan to races every few patches so it's not too stressful on them (rather than all at once on an expansion). Like every 3 patches one race get's a third weirder take on the race "clan" (Roe get Galka tail for example?). Introducing them visually I think wouldn't be too bad, introducing them with grandeur through the lore (giving them all purpose in the world).. that'd probably be really tough.

The semi dangerous succubus look of the females was definitely really nice, imo the current Au Ra females are a bit glassy eyed. Like if you talk too fast they might get confused :p. But I'm part of the derplander/Hildibrand group so.. What do I know lol.

I know they said it's hard to have these weird beasts due clipping issues but SE doesn't really seem to be "too" worried about clipping. With the glamour system improving imo.. they should give themselves more freedom on race designs.

If Lupin, Ronso or anything like them don't become playable, I'd love this. Especially if (for males) facial hair is their default look (since Galka always have facial hair) and cannot be removed.
