They are Arcane skills from Final Fantasy XII
Arcanist lore from http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/pr/game/#!/magic/content
Arcanist Adepts of the art of arcanum derive their might from symbols of power born of geometric techniques hailing from across the southern seas. Held within occult grimoires, these symbols lend shape to the arcanist's aether, thereby allowing him to produce myriad powerful spells.
Using the selfsame symbols to unlock the latent power contained within gemstones, arcanists are also able to summon forth the familiar known as Carbuncle to carry out their bidding.
How does Bio, Miasma and Poison spells fit with occult power and Arcane Magic.
And you even tried using that argument as to why an arcanist can't be a tactician, when the class content includes dialogue and info about using your debuffs and DoTs to disable an enemy. The lore you quoted doesn't even support your argument...

Y'all be posting in a troll thread.
Because neither are relevant. You have categories; Black, White, Summon. Sort your spells and go to town that way.
Still posting in a troll thread.
I would settle for this.
Please? Pretty please? :(
Lol, they just never unlocked Garuda.
The bitter part of me believes they deliberately took that shot because carbuncle will draw in customers moreso than any of the Egi will.
New players will be disappointed....
While the gear can be worn without unlocking Garuda and therefore replacing the Carbuncle summon, the weapon cannot. By game rules, you cannot start a job's relic weapon unless you complete all your job quests. So, either Summoners are getting the Arcanist summons as part of the balances to jobs that are coming along with the Black Mage single target DPS boost, or like Kerberon said, it's just an image taken from the developer's version which doesn't have the balance restrictions that the live version has. In Final Fantasy XI, you'd get accustomed to seeing announcement with impossible combinations of gear and weapons that they'd just make to make the news more enticing.
 they could make Final Fantasy 8 system of summoning when a Hero equip with certain summon he gains his powers , when you summon Ifirit your character ability changes
So Ruin become something else , Feaster adds ground fire circle , your DoTs explode in the end and does small AoE damage ( exmaples might think of better ways )
for the Pet abilities can become more stonger but longer recast times
And for Titan for example will change this Ruins to bomb toss xD LOL , Feaster to land slide , Dots to Eruptions and his shadow flare to Geo Crush ! lol that would be funny as fuck
Gaurda gives other set like her abilities
I mean thats more interesting than DoTs alone .... so not summoner we know from other FF , it is just rushed play style , I understand the time to release but come on u can redo it again np with me XD
I mean FF14 got some old shit from other FF games why not get it into MMO , i am sure you can do it right now
PS. spelling for ability names is wrong sorry ;p i cannot remember them
Let's breath life into our Egis by making them like the following, details and size and all!
That's the Ramuh Egi, a picture of which has been floating around the internet for some time now.
While I personally wouldn't be opposed to making the Egi larger, you'll find most people will bite your head off for suggesting such, assuming you want something the size of a skyscraper.
This is what I think would be nice. These images were created during beta when summoner was first revealed.
Square Enix should just reskin the Egis give them more detail and a humanoid appearance.
LOL why does someone need to provide evidence for a suggestion? í ½í¸‚í ½í¸‚í ½í¸‚ I agree with Akiza though, I'm fine with the size even though I'd prefer them a bit larger, like the Titan Ex ones. Also their detail needs to be changed to that of the Titan Ex ones as well.
On a side note, here's to hoping our new LB is full sized Primals :D It will really go a long way in making SMN have a more traditional feel to it.
I'm sorry to crush your dreams but this is absolutely NOT an egi we'll be getting. If you look closer you'll find a total of 3 mini ramuhs in the arena. For me it seems like they are charging Ramuh. I clearly see 2 tanks 2 healer, DRG BLM BRD so only space for 1 SMN. Of course you could say ramuh egi can multiply himself to deal more damage in a certain time but even if they wont be split perfectly in the stage like in the video.
+It's unfair to other jobs. SMN getting a new egi, other classes being ignored ? Think twice. (I'm talking about new skills not buffs/changes.)
To cheer you up, maybe these mini ramuhs will look pretty much the same as the future ramuh egi just like the titan adds look like the titan egi :)
the only 2 things i think that should change in SNM is making a way to be easier do control the pet in ps3/ps4 controllers and their LB3 should be a summon causing AoE in the enemis (hell, make it random, like garuda or ifrit or titan or rammuh or levi, they apear and do a non elemental aoe damage).

Hey everyone, as you can see above, it is confirmed that this is still a troll thread. You're still posting in a troll thread in case your forgot. Trolling is pretty obvious here, I don't know why you take the bait still.
It' s not that the Egis are small where it floats at now is fine they just need to add detail, a more humanoid appearance, legs and feet and it'll be fine appearance wise. They need to re balance the pets and I hope they make these adjustments
Ifrit-remove radiant shield and replace with eruption also give him a burning dot.
Titan- increase threat generation for multiple enemies and double his health and defense so he doesn't die quickly also give him a heavy dot
Garuda- remove contagion and replace with friction and a wind burn dot
As for the Summoner remove tri-disaster and replace with Dark give Contagion to the Summoner.
I'm sorry, but I think you're making the assumption that I think these are coming in patch 2.3. Please stop. Also, please watch your tone.
If you haven't been keeping up with news, Yoshi-P said that Summoners will not get new Egi until the level cap is raised and all jobs receive new abilities at the same time. Leviathan and Ramuh were put on the table as potential new Egi. Looking at this fight, they obviously have models ready. But again, I will repeat myself.
Summoners will not get new Egi until the level cap is raised and all jobs receive new abilities at the same time.
Naturally I'd think this way if you say "That's the Ramuh Egi"
Sorry for the misunderstanding.
ha ha Even if I don't make a new thread every month on how much the visual appearance of the Egis is not Final Fantasy some one else will make a thread weather it's in the dps or general forum.
Um I know this is kinda late, but here is what I kinda wanted SMN is FFXIV to be.
It's kind of hard to explain though, but I'll give it a shot! :)
When I first saw the artwork for smn, I thought the game play would be like Yuna in Dissidia 012 where she calls out the aeons to attack for her, not her attacking directly.
I think this can still work in XIV. Instead of Ruin, Bio, BioII, etc, the attacks would change depending on the egi that was summoned. The effects would be the same (DoTs), but just have the pets use them and change the name/animation a little to match the summoned egi. It's still a pet class, but it focuses more on the pet instead of the player. I think this would satisfy both the players looking for a "traditional" summoner and those who like the DoT style summoner we have now. I could go for a faster CD Enkindle too, but I digress! ^^;
Sorry if this didn't make any sense! Hahaha!
SE should just take the Conjuror from Everquest 2 and adopt it to Final Fantasy XIV's version of the Summoner while the Scholar keeps the Necromancer Archetype.
Spur rouse enkindke I get a 1k nuke to all enemies in range great for adds in boss fights
