22.7gb update after relogging?

or have it download in the PS4 download list instead of making us stare at the damn launcher and not be able to play PS4 games.

Left for two minutes and came back to see my screen frozen on one of the camera idlings. My controller wouldn't allow me to go back to my PS4 home screen or cancel the wandering camera. I could still hear the menu sounds, but not see them when I pressed buttons. So I had to turn off the system and then when I started the game back up it is making me re-download what I assume to be the stormblood update. I already re download and patched the game before Stormblood release due to an error. 16+ hour waiting room again

wow surprised this isnt fixed yet, was going to resub guess ill buy a working game in the mid year sale instead. On the plus side it gave me time to finish XV.

3rd time now due to power outtages caused during storms. Now I can't even play at maint complete to get a new land plot but hey least this third time isn't another complete days worth of paid time

New land is scheduled for october. Your future plot is safe.

you're assuming they would fix it by then. from the non-committal responses I've seen and received from both Playstation Support and Square Enix Support I highly doubt they're putting sufficient resources towards fixing this issue.

Or that there's nothing else of significance to add? Do people want them to release statement 'We are aware of the issue and have provided the information to Sony who is looking into a fix' every day?

Wow, still hasn't been fixed. Bravo Square/Sony. Yeah, I won't be resubbing when my sub runs out until they resolve this issue.

Other than this issue, and the Raubahn/Pipin bottleneck issue during early access, Stormblood has been fantastic so far. Which makes this more frustrating since I'd rather spend those hours playing instead of downloading a 22GB patch. An issue which was not present during HW or ARR.

Are we also going to keep dealing with that Unable to Complete Version Check after every patch maintenance too? holy hell...

On my second time getting the 22GB download. Things like this (lack of support for/from Sony) really make me want to upgrade to a desktop platform. >.>

I wonder if this is happening to EVERY ps4 user who is playing this game. Would think with that amound of people it would be kinda high on priority. Its game breaking. I am sure they are working on it tho. Who knows how complicated the issue is.

I'm having the same problem, everytime the PS4 is either on or in sleep mode and there is a power outage or it gets disconnected from electricity it forces you to download the whole 20/22 GB all over again.

It has forced me to reinstall the game at least 3 times and it has delayed me and my group for a while. Its even more anoying when your playing time is not much.:mad:

Good News or Bad news, weekly update is just proper communication. They also need Sony to be less silent on the matter if it is actually the case that they're the problem.

Last night's maintenance included a PS4 Launcher update. Can anyone confirm if the problem persisted after this?

My game (PS4) was updated to 4.01 overnight. I just had a power outage at 14:05 EST, and yes, I am now redownloading 22.88GB of data.

Just had power outage. Problem still there. This is my third time and im about to quit this shit....

This is so frustrating... Third time I've had to download this patch.

This is the 4th time this has happened to me now... It is so annoying to have to wait 6 hours to play the game again, I am starting to get sick of it...

I wish mine only took 6 hours....for me it takes roughly a day and a half, rendering my PS4 entirely useless since I have to keep the launcher open...assuming my internet or power doesnt go out, or if I get the "cannot download patch" error.

Damn, that sucks, but I'm not surprised. Only thing that changed is that the new patch data is included as I think before it was a ~22.7GB download and this newest patch is around 155MB which bumps it up to around 22.8GB.

I just resubbed after over a year away to check out storm blood and this repeated downloading of the entire game is absolutely unacceptable. I'm unsubbing again until this particular issue is resolved. SE and Sony need to address this and keep the customers informed as to the progress because it is costing you potential resubs for the new expansion. Get it together....

Im having to download this stupid update because my power went out when i was doing a dungeon earlier and im super pissed off about this. I emailed them hoping i get something back.

I don't think Square Enix and Sony give a damn at this point.

Never turn off your PS4 and, if possible, never turn off the FF14 application either. When you log out, press the PS button and put the console in rest mode. Unless the power goes out, it prevents the error 100% of the time. You can get a battery backup but those cost money so that choice is up to you.

Just happened to me. Put my PS4 in rest mode last night, but apparently it lost power overnight. This is ridiculous.

It happened to me just now. Got a power outage for a few seconds as i play, and when i booted up my PS4 and logged in to the client, and voila, downloading 22882.21MB files again. And since my ps4 tends to having the Unable to download patch files [20512],[25008],[20495] problem....well, can only pray for the best as i download again

my ps4 has not been turned off or put in rest mode, i also use the exit game in main menu, not just closing application to close game. yet logging back in game i now have to download a 22gb file. my net is terrible, dl speed is 0.28mb/s and gonna take approx. 1857 mins.

I bought a ups power supply and I don't have the issue anymore, but after 7th time I was so angry. now I know this is not going to sound well but the only way that SE listen to the people is when they take something like this to the media, and gives them bad pr, only then thy will fix it. so we need to take this to places like kotaku.com or ign. If this gets there and then they write something bad you can expect this to be fixed is a day or 2

Dude this is stiill an issue so annoying last night my ps4 just shut off and now Im redownloading the game again this happened to me once before and thought it was just an early patch thing had no idea it was gona keep happening is there no fix for this?

And to think I finally found a nice MMORPG on PS4.

Oh well, back to ESO until this is fixed. Amazing how SE has managed to stay in silence so far. But if they are gonna let something this critical slip by for weeks; this is definitely not a game I would want to play long term.

Yep, this nonsense keeps happening. I messaged SE support about it and they said there was nothing they would do to compensate players affected by this issue. They went on to tell me that if I did not want to be charged I could go to the mogstation and cancel my subscription. "F you" noted, SE. Subscription cancelled. Worst customer service ever.

Why is this bad customer service? They can not do anything if it's a Sony issue and do not owe you any refund or compensation. Sony is where the issue is occurring.

After reading this thread at length and learning this is also related to Sony as well (truthfully or not, I do not know), I still find it abysmal that after 3 weeks SE has done nothing to provide us with on going updates. Surely, they know they will lose a massive amount of players by this. Maybe a majority of the PS community.

However to think, yet no action was taken was beyond me. The 14 levels were good while it lasted, haha.

You think Sony would let anyone smear their name without issuing a statement back. It's obviously a PS4 problem with the launcher and they are working on it. No "so they say" about it.

.Still an issue. Just happened AGAIN for me (twice so far this week)....c'mon you guys...it can't be THAT hard to fix. I would expect some kinda remediation for us PS4 users for having to deal with this issue multiple times.
