Since I said I would, I’m throwing my votes/critiques here since they ended up being quite long. Anyway I tried to vote on the basis of how well the models incorporated themselves with the npc - I felt that the better shots were the ones that tried to make it look as if they were part of the scene, rather than just wearing similar clothes and standing next to the person.

Yunie - You have successfully incorporated yourself into the scene really well. You are dressed in appropriate clothes that complement the npc and have made it look as if you are his little shepherd's assistant. We aren't supposed to vote on the backgrounds; however you've done a good job with that as well. There is really very little to fault with your picture.

Jayzan - When I first looked at this I almost didn't think a PC was in the shot, you incorporated yourself that well; you look as if you belong with that group. I actually like the fact that you've put on clothes that complement the NPCs and not just copied them.

Kurri - This is adorable. The pose is great and all (suits the NPC perfectly etc. etc.) however I really like the fact that you've decided to lie down in the opposite direction. It might seem really simple, however it adds colour balance to the shot and prevents any possible... misconceptions about the situation.

Kaelah - I wouldn't call this amazingly visually appealing (That rock honestly does you no favours), however you have presented the theme reasonably well in that you look as if you could be the third sister. You've also (albeit rather minorly) differentiated yourself through wearing different colours, which does help to make you stand out a little more.

Kin - Is it just me, or does Kin kinda glow in the sunlight? You've obviously gone for sex appeal this time around (Not to my personal tastes, but hey) and you (objectively) look quite good in the clothes. For me however, this does run the risk of being in the category of 'merely standing next to the NPC in the same clothes.' Fortunately for you I don't feel it goes that far. It’s not too much of a stretch to imagine that you are helping Loonh Gah (I think that’s her name?) with the over-sized lizard behind you. Also, not to bring this up again, but she looks somewhere between expressionless and slightly grumpy.

Maxwell - You are well-incorporated in the shot: you look like a third engineer who’s trying to contribute to the conversation. Your facial expression is a bit out of place though. I feel it would look better if your head was up and if you either opened your mouth or emoted. Also sunshine may have been a better choice than purple.

Tinsley - This does look rather cute, like an over-enthusiastic teenager on their first day of work - if over-enthusiastic teenagers were accepted into the Maelstrom. I have some minor gripes about your clothing choices though; mainly that the hat has a mask. It really doesn't add anything to the shot apart from covering your face.

Yuni –You definitely contrast well with the NPCs and have chosen well in terms of clothing. This last vote was definitely close; however I think I ended up choosing this over the others due to the fact that the pose and interaction with the NPCs just felt more natural to me (I really cannot justify it any other way). I have to say something about the vodka sunrise in the background though, since it is so blindingly obvious. The way I see it, it could be both a benefit and a disadvantage, depending on people’s tastes. It matches your colour choices for your clothing quite well and by itself has some very pretty shades of orange. However it is quite bright and somewhat detracts from the comparatively dull lower half of the shot, drawing more attention to the sky than to you, yourself.

*About the ‘don’t judge the backgrounds’ thing, I made my decisions before considering backgrounds and only mentioned them if they were so essential to the picture that it was hard not to mention them.

Thanks for the feedback! Nope, not just you; several people seem to think so. Sex appeal actually wasn't my intention, though. I'm fond of Loonh Gah, and I couldn't think of another way to coordinate with her. But if Kin seems a little grumpy, it's because she's not thrilled to have been interrupted. Loonh is one of the unfriendliest characters in the game, and I wanted to reflect her demeanor in the scene. :)

As this looks like this might be my last round, I'm taking the opportunity to say good bye and good luck in advance! ^_^

I'm traveled for a week and I wont have access to the game to make new screen shots, and because I never dreamed to make it even this far, my next rounds are basically my place holders! If I do manage to somehow make it past this round, I guess we'll see how they do in that case.

Sorry it took so long to post the reasons behind my votes. I had some things irl to take care of before I could sit down and go through the images.
Please be forewarned, this is quite a lengthy post.
Also, all models, please know that I think all of the pictures a are really well done. I think all of you handled this challenge very well and with a lot of creativity.
However, this far into the contest, I had to nit pick so that I could decide who to vote for. I hope that you all take it as a compliment since it means that there is no glaring issues with your photos and that I had to really look closely to find the flaws.

-The models I voted for-
1. Ciara - The SS is very well framed by the background. There is an overwhelming amount of brown in the photo but it doesn't take away from the focal point. This is due to two things. The first reason is because there is a very solid flow to this picture. My eye starts at the window behind your character, then it follows the lamps on the back wall. Very quickly I see the two characters. The second thing that makes the two figures stand out is your character. The pose you decided to go with is a very assertive pose than makes the image pop.

2.Kin - The reason that I voted for you is because you look at the viewer. It establishes a connection with the viewer and it is difficult to look away. It feels as if the SS was caught in the moment of you turning around to see who was walking up behind you. It almost feels as if my hand was caught in the cookie jar, so to speak.

3.Ronberku - More Pirates!! I really enjoyed this picture as well. I think you matched Carvallain very well. You with the red and splash of blue, and him with the blue and splash of red. Almost a yin/yang type of balance. More than that, I enjoy the symbolism I read from the image. It is as if I am looking at the past and the present of Limsa Lominsa as portrayed by your character and Carvallain. I don't know if this was on purpose or by happy accident but a job well done.

4.Vahn - You matched Wymond very well. There is enough difference between the two of you without making either stand out too much. You captured Wymond's inconspicuousness very well.

5.Yunie - This picture is simply adorable! You and the shepherd are a perfect match. I love the time of sky and just how close we are to you. It is a very happy picture. What made me decide to vote for you was that you looked as if you were helping count the sheep. You are caught in the moment, something that gives the picture a nice sense of movement.

6.Kurri - This is a very close up, very fun shot. The lazy pirates of Summerford Farms are a blast. You managed to capture their lackadaisical attitude to their new line of work.

7.Maxwell - You did a great job blending in with Cid and his crew. Your choice of animation makes it look as if you are a part of part of the discussion.

8.S.Q. - I think you match both Hamon and your surroundings very well. You also managed to overcome the 'Roeg' problem that I encounter; namely, being just too big when compared to most. T^T Eorzea was not built with Roegs in mind!!

-The models I didn't vote for-
1.Jayzan - I really enjoyed the Pirate theme. I think it is a theme that really works well with Roegs given the in game lore. Also, it is tough for Roegs to look as if they fit in a place because of their size. You made a good choice in being aboard the Astalica and out in the open. You also made the good choice in picking the three pirates, two of which are Roegs. However, I felt as if your choice in attire made you stand out just a bit too much. I also feel as if your characters reaction doesn't match up with the NPCs as they are shown in the SS.

2.Kaelah - I really liked your choice of NPCs. We encounter the two miqo'te fairly early on and after all that has happened, it is easy to forget about them. I also think that you matched them very well while still maintaining your individuality. My biggest critique is also why I didn't vote for you. I think what would have really helped your photo is to zoom out a bit so that it looks as if you are "talking" to the crowd.

3.Tinsley - I really enjoyed the setting of your SS. I also enjoyed the humor between you and the Malestrom guard. At the same time, I felt as if the humor could have been achieved with a different head piece. For me the jester hat is a bit too jarring.

4.Yuni - Yay! Another Wymond picture! I think you also did a good job matching Wymond. I love the dramatic sky. I like how you are the center of attention. However, for me, I feel as if you stand out a bit too much. In my experience, Wymond is a very inconspicuous person and with both characters looking at you and you being dead center, it draws so much attention.
