Why would they ever make a MSQ character dressed like that? They wouldn't, and nobody is asking them to. You're just intentionally fanning the flames.
I don't want to come off as pedantic since I believe that you have made very good points throughout this thread, but the parent in this instance was actually the father.
Many people assumed it was the mother because "omg women are always getting offended by sexualization of characters," but this actually wasn't the case.
Eh, there are plenty of little LGBT moments in the game regardless of which gender your character is. If SE made and announced a LGBT main character, it would be impossible for it to not seem contrived. I'm not gay myself, but I'd imagine that if I were then I'd actually find a forced contrivance like that to be highly offensive. As things stand, sexual orientation is completely unimportant in the game and if anything, most of the main cast could be said to have a neutral orientation.
Make up a story or marry another player of the same gender and boom. Not only do you have a character that's LGBT But it's the main character.
"Good writing and story" < "Insert arbtrary character trait to pander to arbitrary demographics."
And that little tidbit is why I don't bother with buying games so much anymore. Keep the quotas out please.
Sit through what? NPC's being normal and not making their sexual orientation their one defining feature (they could be gay, but we wouldn't know because it's not important to the story/topic. It would only ever be brought up if they have a significant other. I'd include dropping vague hints or responding when asked, but why would either happen)?
