Nope.. That's why I don't bother with hunts unless I'm already there.
I don't pull to avoid drama, but in my opinion there's no such thing as early pulling.
Hunts are for hunters and if you're not hunting you may miss the prey!
I've never minded missing one, I likely never will. I find it quite silly to wait around for everyone on the server to arrive.
I also agree that it sucks to not participate in hunts and having to platter it up to someone who never puts in the work, but even though I participate a fair bit searching for hunts, I'll be in one zone looking, a call will be made, I'll come over and it'll already be dead. I've been on both sides and I can tell you it's absolutely annoying. Like.. what is your hurry? Is your stove on effing fire? Did your cat jump off the balcony? You can't wait 2 minutes for those to gather up? Because those late comers are also feeding you non existent early puller naysayers too by also looking for the very hunts you are.
My concern isn't for the lazy bastards who can't do the work. It's for the people who work hard for it that get left out.
What happened to being a community? Instead, we're resorted to pettiness and impatience?
I'm glad I'm just working on the one weapon...
I'll never forget when as a Bard I auto attacked an S rank hunt. It was epic, but really I was so scared that I was going to get yelled at.
As someone that has played multiple other MMOs where only the claimer can get credit and hit the mob... this argument hurts my head.
To me it is already amazeballs that multiple parties can get credit and participate.
Early pulling doesn't exist.... only "being late", "unlucky" or "having bad timing". Brush it off, and try to find the next one... that's my 2 gil.
Deffo agreed! As someone who also played those MMO's AND MMO's that do have multiple party/single player world event encounters where anyone can just jump right in. This is the only MMO where I seen these arguments take place. Their is no such thing as early pulling, if you're there then you're there, if you're not then you're not. No one is under any obligation to wait for the entire server to show up.
I'd attribute that to a severe flaw in the games design and that's something the devs really need to think about fixing. You simply can't mix an open world event along side a system that takes players trying to spawn it halfway across the zone and expect everyone to get along nicely. The event should always spawn near the players trying to spawn it. Or even take away the system to spawn it totally and just treat these S-Ranks as just super rare spawns in keeping with the spirit of hunting.
The hunts health should simply scale based on 1) amount of players there 2) combined average ilvl of the group of all players that meet the hunt rank lvl
That way as new gear comes out the health scales as well as does the damage, that way players cannot simply burn a hunt down because now they are 40 ilvls higher than when it was first released.
You really want to make them a hunt, give them a health pool of that of a raid boss. That way it is impossible to burn a hunt down faster than it takes to get from the aetheryte to it, and it would actually require a hunting party or alliance.
The people wanting to report for "early pulling" sounds like someone calling cops because someone cut in line at store.
