The Grand Companies Are Coming! (07/15/2011)

These new recruit missions better have cutscenes and they better be good and not some wall of text sidequest. last chance to get it right SE, dont mess this up.

If I log on and go to the gridania grand company recruitment office to start my first mission and im just hit with a wall of boring text like these sidequests, I wont be happy to say the least. They have had plenty of time to make cutscenes for these.

It'd be really cool if they had cut scenes...they should show off the game's graphics more

I hope they have cutscenes so people can shut up about wanting cutscenes.

No fatigue, raids and endgame content, and now this? I returned to the game at the right time.

So basically what you're saying is that even if the story is great, it's stupid and pointless if you have to read it? Everything has to be shown in a cutscene right?

I have nothing against cutscenes, I think they're great. However when people complain about the lack of lore in quests but don't bother to even read them because it's not a cutscene, that just pisses me off. The side quest text we actually have right now is pretty interesting if you bothered to read it. It's really setting up a lot of the plot for what's coming up.

I agree. The information side quests provide right now can be pretty serious (the ones that deal subtly with the empire invading and the one that outright make you fight against some Garleans) or pretty funny depending on the NPC. I have enjoyed all side quests I have done, taking them for what they are, side quests.

Edit: there is a guard NPC in gridania who looses his journal notes to some Opo opos, this was a very funny quest to read out. I believe is either rank 25 or 30.

Patch 1.18 is turnin' out to be sssthumtin sssthpecial...just for me!
