I'm mildly curious about this occurrences, how common is it for players to find bots queuing into duty? I've been in over 9000 instance count and I have never met any bots getting into players' duties.. is it more of a data center thing?
Decided to help my buddy in Titania EX tonight to get his weapon, we started to farm and things were going well till 1 dps and 1 healer had to leave and got replaced with a SAM and an AST, we say hello and get in. Once we pull I noticed that the SAM wasn't doing any positionals to get Kenki....at all and were dying to things and not doing mechanics right and we wiped at 2nd add phase as they ran a purple AoE on the stack marker and the healers died they said sorry.
Okay take 2 we get to that part again and the healer runs the stack marker while i'm on Peaseblossom literally inside of him, they get clipped by the purple AoE marker on me and we die, then the SAM goes "see you died to the same thing I did :) you made a mistake". I explained to them that the healer ran it in and all they said was "lol k", 3rd pull the healer ran counter clockwise for the fiery hand stacks and we again died, had to leave after that since the group was falling apart.
We almost failed the DPS check many times despite it being a "farm" party the SAM (with AST buffs btw) was doing bad DPS, hitting no positionals for Kenki, doing god knows what and the healer kept killing us, I was pretty drained because my buddy only needed 1 more clear for his spear.
So the day before yesterday, I found a great farm group for Titania EX because I wanted the MCH weapon. I got 8 tokens then called it a night.
Yesterday, I wanted to get these last two tokens. AND IT TOOK THE WHOLE DAY!!!
I got into several farm groups but each time something went wrong:
-People bickering for their positions for the puddles
-People not knowing how chains work
-People not DPS'ing the right mob
-people leaving after one wipe
-People with single target marker getting into a stack marker
-People stacking before the tethers comes up, then running around like headless chickens when they had it
-People not knowing how Phantom Rune works..
I honestly let out an enormous sigh of relief when I got my two tokens with an amazing farm group. If you guys read this post, I will forever love you.
I had a DRK who either was too focused on DPS or didn't seem to care - so when the MT messed up the knock back mechanic in E2N, this OT DRK never picked up the boss. By the time we got the MT back up to provoke the boss, we had already lost two DPS.
It's frustrating when tanks don't have the cognizance to recognize when they need to pick up some slack - especially when it's (1) as easy as turning on tank stance and Provoke + GCD and (2) MUH 50TH PERCENTILE DEEPS IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THAT 75TH PERCENTILE MCH THAT JUST DIED.
Things got back in order when we got the MT back up and they took enmity off the boss but holy crap --;
Yep..
I actually had a tank last night in E1N who, upon gate dropping, started a 5s countdown, ran in and pulled - without tank stance.
The MCH took hate within the first three GCDs. My co-healer and I actually managed to keep him alive through the initial tank buster but I (on SCH) ran out of instant resources to keep going afterwards so the MCH died on the subsequent auto attack.
At least after both myself and the co-healer told them to turn on tank stance, they did but holy crap people >>;
I had a very interesting E4 run yesterday.
The setup: 2 PLD, 2 WHM (myself being one of them), MNK, SMN, 2 MCH.
The MCH are obviously the same person multi-boxing, and had announced that they were new to the fight. Okay, fine, they're going to die a lot. Accepted.
The fight went fine until we started getting the landslide phases. The next thing I know, I'm spending half the fight raising the other healer, the dps, and one of the tanks who thinks they need to do my job and toss heals out even though nobody really needed additional healing. Some tanks don't like their healers to dps, I don't like my tanks to heal when they should be doing mechanics and letting me worry about whether somebody needs immediate healing. Especially when a run is going south fast.
At 2.5 bars of LB we're down to myself and the tanks and I'm keeping an eye on that bar to hit it the second it caps and I have 10s of breathing room to cast it without getting spell-locked into a bad position. I hit the tanks with some Regens and top them off then LB3 the group just before Titan's jump knockback and we continue. And then half the party promptly gets killed again when Titan goes into ATV mode. *sigh*
We did eventually kill it (after a second, dps LB3), but I have never been so glad that WHM is so mana-efficient now. On the plus side, it's runs like that that force me to improve my gameplay and learn more optimal ways to do my job.
