Because, and this is going to sound harsh because it is, Oblation should have never existed to begin with. At a level where all tank unique defensive cooldowns got an upgrade, TBN should have gotten an upgrade as well.

Oblation should be the level 82+ animation to TBN (and renamed something like Total Eclipse or something)
I forgot lol. Could be Lunar Eclipse or Moonless Night.
At so low a power level (if we aren't going to separately get anything to reach rough parity against the likes of Enhanced Equilibrium), sure, but there's no issue with our level 82 defensive being an ability rather than a trait. It's literally just a buff in control at cost to a single extra oGCD per minute. That's not a bad trade-off.
Not everything needs to be homogeneous. We just need parity.
How and why? It's typically the best pre-traited on-demand outside of Raw Intuition / Nascent Flash in AoE. It just doesn't have enough of a lead for Oblation alone to be provide a whole expansion's worth of kit advancement. Oblation needs to be stronger and/or Dark Mind revised, self-sustain to be increased, and LD to be fixed (just as it has since the job and that skill were introduced in HW).
Because having one "do everything" button in a kit chock-full of the bare minimum and less shows an exceptionally poor distribution of the potency within the kit.
I don't know how many other ways a half dozen people can spell it out to you while you use nonsequitur and exaggerated arguments from assumption of their meaning.
Nobody is asking for homogeny. At worst we're asking for as much as the other tanks received.
The problem with Oblation is the level at which we get it. It's again, at level 82, when Shelltron, Raw Intuition, and Heart of Stone all get upgrades. If Oblation was gotten at level...48, you'd see no complaints from anybody here, other than the lack of an upgrade to TBN at 82. Though if they had given us Oblation very early and then upgraded it to 2 charges that give healing at level 82, you'd probably be seeing fewer complaints.
TBN is no more "do everything" than Shelltron or Heart of Stone. It's less constrictive than Raw Intuition, since one needn't have room for self-healing thereafter in order to optimize it, but that's it.
That 'DRK's EW increase in capacity must be come in the form of a trait because the other tanks got traits' is asking for homogeny. Not a huge amount, but yes, to constrain available means of reaching parity to specifically what methods were used on other tanks is homogeny.Quote:

This is still DRK we're talking about, not GNB or PLD. It's not so bloated that skills must be wrapped together regardless of potential anti-synergy.
If we got our level 82 capacity at 48... the other tanks would have reason to complain from 48-81, so it would indeed have to be something milder that then upgrades to it. Though, between adding another initially weak skill and just... fixing Dark Mind, I'd take the latter.
That said... if we got Blood Price back (albeit more defensively oriented as not to be primarily just a dungeon damage bonus) and that upgraded to Oblation... Yeah, I'd dig that. But, doubtless that'd be the button that breaks the keyboard's back?
