And that is why there is level adjustment. Have the cap for the fight at 50 (still have all ur skills and gear, but you aren't as strong) and the problems are solved.

7 hours into patch? Working, got home around emergency maintenance, went back to work after emergency maintenance was over, didn't get real time to play till after BLM burn was released. Pity me. After doing the fight a couple times with different setups, I picked up on things as well since it's not real hard to figure out, it's all execution. This is a team game as well so I can't exactly solo Garuda now can I?
I'm not defending exploiters either as I already said I don't consider it an exploit. But if you don't consider getting her to 15% before Aerial Blast with a standard setup an exploit either then that's all that needs to be said regarding this issue. I'm for the patch as well so all this bantering is moot.
There is a difference between doing the fight normally and having enough dps to burn her through phases while killing the plumes, making sure the pillars don't take too much damage, transitioning into phase 3 controlling the clones and doing enough dps to them to kill them before they port and 1 shot everyone without pulling aggro and getting everyone stunned/knockbacked, or moving as a group while killing the plumes in the clock phase while also doing damage to garuda, and than killing her before your dps run out of mp.
And standing at the side of the arena, ignoring the plumes, ignoring the pillars and waiting for a small set of plumes to spawn allowing you the maximum amount of time to kill her before the other 50% of the fight even begins.
Not saying either strategy is hard but i am not sure if you noticed that 1 does completely ignore the entire purpose of the fight and the other doesn't.
@Peng: I know about the differences and yes, the non-burn way does require more team synergy and technique. That can't be disputed. The fact she doesn't auto Aerial Blast just makes her another Miser's Mistress though so in that regards, Garuda is the only target that matters. Ender would have no qualms with the burn setup. ;o
Oh I do grasp it. Taking her low even with the standard setup is unintentional just as well.
And yet at no point between the time my LS killed it and the time the BLM burn video was released did yoshi or any dev make a post saying it was unintentional.
However it was only a few hours after the BLM burn video was released that yoshi made a post saying it was unintentional and was being fixed.
And its not like they didn't have any chances to correct us, also at no point have they ever said burning mistress down before she moves is unintentional.
So maybe you are still missing the point of why the devs find the BLM burn an exploit.
Fusional says something dumb, LS's mates make a rational arguement to make what he says look less dumb..... You should skip that first step.
I, personally, think that the only part the dev team feels is an exploit is the ability to skip aerial blast completely. All the other stuff they might lump together into "good strategy". That's their choice and it sounds like they've made it. This is a group that is leaving things like PL and the rest of Garuda's mechanics alone, though, so idk how much I agree with how they label things.
Moogle srsly needed fixed, it got fixed. Garuda srsly needs fixed, she'll be fixed. For now, while I don't like it, I'd suggest everyone take advantage of the blm burn strategy before its gone. For any other strategy, as long as she gets to AB, I don't think it can be put into the same category as the officially declared exploit.
@Peng: I imagine because the bug was made abundantly apparent when BLMs blew it out of proportion. But I'll give you that, they didn't correct the issue then so I'm arguing on shallow ground.
I didn't say Mistress dying before she moves was unintentional either. I said Garuda without auto Aerial Blast makes her into a Mistress fight where it becomes completely timed based.
Would honestly be surprised if SE had any strategy in mind at all. I am honestly under the impression they just throw crap together half the time and then let the player base figure it out. It would definitely explain why they always make videos of them fighting crap with every job in full AF and why the bard in the garuda video never had raging strike up and decided to use chameleon after shooting her 3 times with light shot among many other flaws with how they were playing their jobs.
