If they got rid of ilvl reqs, there would be a lot more of these threads complaining about being kicked because they didnt meet dps requirements. ilvl is a way for the devs to attempt to guarantee a successful run of the duty within the time limit.

Yeah that is definitely a recurring problem :/
Yeah I don't think anyone here who has experience playing this game decently often would deny that at all. Skill is a whole other can of worms though and not what the thread is about.
Player skill varies which is totally fine and the game cannot control it. The game can however control when players are allowed to queue for things and some gear situations (like ones I have pointed out) make it so the player cannot do their job in the content. If they can't do the job then why did the DF hire them so to speak?
Okay so you wiped a couple times. Around 20 mins of time used up.
So you find the problem and initiate a voke kick.
The vote kick doesn't pass.
Now what do you do?
And so is the requirement to actually be on a Disciple of War or Magic and the requirement to have a certain ratio of healers, tanks and DPS in the party and the requirement to have the right character level for the respective content.
We "could" get rid of all of those and just have people queue as a level one botanist for Dun Scaith. Less "babysitting", more groups that disband before the first pull.
There would be red flags pointing to a potential bad run before you even look at the gear they're wearing. "Tanks HP is lower than a Level 50 tank. That's odd," would be your first thought if you looked at the party list. If you don't look at it, or have it hidden, then your only clue after that would be how fast the tank dies (or if someone else in the party notices and mentions it). If you still don't check their gear, then I don't know what to tell you (and if you defend the tank in crafting gear for 'playing how they want,' then you're being a part of the problem for enabling them).
