How is this in anyway extreme? Because it affects a portion of the gameplay you enjoy and are excited about? I enjoy the RP elements of MMORPG. This is extreme to me.

RPGs have things such as marriage, customization, etc. They are not really aspects of the game I want to shell out more money than I already have for my sub. I pay the multi-character fee ($15) plus two for retainers for a total fee of $19/month. This is already a pretty steep sub for the game. I do not mind paying for the multiple characters and extra retainers since they are mostly a behind-the-scenes thing for me. No one else sees my retainers, it is purely an account service.

If they are so pressed for money, I would rather them raise all subs by a dollar and give everyone access to the same RPG elements of the game.

Little by little, that's how things are advancing with the cash shop. Now they're locking a rather anticipated feature behind a pay wall. You can either pick the half-assed version or pay for the real one the community was asking for.

I play MMORPG games specially for the RPG part, those stuffs matter to me a lot. Same as for many others.

I prefer to believe that YoshiP is a very reasonable person (that's why I'm a ffxivarr fanboy!) and I'm quite sure he prefer to read our "QQ" before releasing it than after.

If I saw it right, the dresses are the same. only in other colors.

I also think it would have been better to give the gold plan just a 3m gil price tag (because vanity is luxury), but then people would complain that the amount of gil buyers would increase.
Maybe SE can combine it, so it cost $ and Gil?

What feature exactly? The 2 person mount?
The wedding you can get for free, everything else (except the mount maybe) is vanity.
Even for the mount there exist already a free version if you can bring a new player to the game and the new player pay for 3 months..

I knew this would happen. I was saying they'd keep taking it further and further back when cash shop was first revealed, yet people kept arguing in favor of it.

I told you it would be a slippery slope. I freaking told you.

Next time they decide to charge real life money for things we're ALREADY PAYING FOR, will be the time that I decide to cancel my subscription, permanently. I say this as a legacy CE player who has been playing since the original launch.

Words cannot express my complete and utter disappointment with you right now, S-E. I'm literally disgusted.

This is so....I won't say the S word, but it really is lol. This is called Freemium model, which XIV ARR is not. Not only are you overexaggerating and going to the opposite extreme, this current situation has only one thing confirmed about it:

lol. Sad thing is I can see that happening...and often. Although it's possible that SE will "double dip" and make both parties pay the fee. $90 each for the gold plan...or something.

I see they're gradually shifting to both a Sub and F2P money grab models. I generally prefer the Sub model games because they keep out RMT and trolls but clearly gaming companies can't be trusted to not screw over the consumers by adding more and more cash shop items. I am eagerly awaiting for them to make the next set of gear look like rags with shit smeared on them so they can sell me something to glamor over it in the cash shop.
