Thoughts on the new Letter from the Producer? (May 20)

It does. It proves you're the one doing the attacking and "policing". In order to be a fanboy you have to say there's nothing wrong with the game and defend every flaw, which I honestly see no one doing.

You're the only one that assumes everything is "defensive".

honestly, Elexia is not a gamer. he plays the game with developer mind or something so he doesn't know what players exactly need from playing the game. I think he playing the game for other reason, he's not really "play" the game

and he alway defend the developer in every threads for some reason, I don't know why but I think he act like he's a dev. in disguise more than a fanboy

If you and Elexia actually spoke with any clarity and didn't get defensive, or aggressive if you prefer because I guess defensive is too big a word, people might actually consider your ideas. I think all this information has been great. Some of it was known, but we have a bit more detail and confirmation. Its like Yoshi-P resended the gag order on information flow. And while there are some more specific details I'd like to know about, I am happy that someone over at SE has taken an actual stance on a direction for this game. So Akihiko Matsui is now my favorite SE employee for basically telling us how it will be and that you might not like it, but too bad. Take it or leave it.

Jumping examination as been pushed back... meh. I was hoping they would at least examine it before adding lots of new stuff, so they can already plan new things to fit with jumping.

I am pleased with many changes and doubtful with many others, hopefully I'll be wrong on the ones I am doubtful. I feel ya... But you should wait till the changes come, and then say the things you just said. For all you know you'll love the new system a lot more that what it is now.

I have a feeling the new system is going to be deep, especially with the inclusion of Materia(tentative name) stat boots items.

Aside from all the exciting changes coming to the battle and armoury systems that were previously announced, here are my personal favorites:

In-Game Achievement Management
YES!!! I am an achievement junkie! I was first introduced to achievements in Warhammer, and got officially hooked when they implemented the system in WoW. I realize that FFXIV has been tracking our achievements since day one, but you can currently only find them in your history on the Lodestone. It will be nice to be able to see them in game.

Action Bar Revisions
I know this ties into the new battle system, but it's also a UI issue and the action bars are something that's been a real source of contention for me. I'm tired of the clunkiness, having to flip through 3 different bars, and reset abilities. I'm glad this is something they're prioritizing.

Ifrit Battle
Our first primal! Will Summoner be an option with the new job system? Can't wait!

Auction House?
Looks like the jury is still out on replacing the market wards with a traditional auction house. They're still open to the idea and are currently making a final decision.

Mount System
Kind of odd how FFXIV is STILL loathe to come out and say chocobos, for some reason. I'll just be glad to have something more than anima and a pair of worn out shoes.

Configuration Menu Improvements
Settings done via text commands will now also be available in the configuration menu. Finally. I'm getting too old to remember a giant list of text commands anymore, LOL.

Custom Chat Log Tabs
The system is pretty much already in place. You can make your own windows. I've never understood why you can't make your own tabs. This is something I've nitpicked about for a while.
