You as there friend couldn't find 6 other people to help run the dungeons? Or tell them about PF, which usually helps a lot. Just saying all these I've had so many friends quit or not play posts are getting old really fast.

Don't give me that, this isn't savage raiding. Its a story dungeon that I myself have helped with more times than I can count. Synced and unsynced and a lot of those were through PFs from people asking. If you can't take the time to help out your friends or find 6 other people is no one in a FC or LSs?

The thing is even if you go through the msq roulette if that is what your referring to you are asked 90 percent of the time to skip the cut scenes. So essentially you are still skipping it so what would be the difference exactly, even with friends Ive seen where others even ask you to watch the cuts in the inn room. Same thing will happen with arf when it goes unsync if not already like that people farm it for lore so they just wana get in and out. For the player base of this game , it makes sense to be able to skip things in the future its no reason to pretend otherwise.

The only thing that your skipping essentially is the story itself, all dungeons will be done by any player that uses a potion eventually for leveling other jobs. Trails and raids will be deemed irrelevant once new trails and raids come out so what exactly is the point in having people do story if things are set up this way. As I mention before I was against jump potion in the beginning but as I played the game it makes total sense now. The player base dictates whats relevant and whats not and its no point in trailing from behind, just to view the msq because that is all you will honestly get to do.

Im talking about signing up as a full premade group either using FC/LSs, 6 other friends or the better option party finder! PF now uses the whole data center so its not like it used to be shouting for groups. If your friends are telling you to skip cutscenes then I sure wouldn't want to play with them. PF groups also most of the time don't mind watching of cutscenes, if you are joining with the intent to tell the new person to skip then I'm not really sure why you join it in the first place. It seems people aren't taking the steps needed to clear certain content and just expect to get it done through DF or with impatient people, take the time to set up the right party and you won't have issues.

Also I'm just talking about people who seem to have so many friends who won't play, the amount is outstanding! I know everything about the potion and I'm fine with it since it means I can still enjoy my continuous story and other features without SE butchering it all for people who don't enjoy it. Let them waste money skipping content that takes no time at all thats there choice.

Its funny how XI has gone this long and still has a sub attached to it, weird right??

I totally agree , you can literally finish the story in less than 2 weeks easy but it seems to be a task or chore for some people. I remember when I leveled my alts you can get to level 30 within a day in a half its not that hard, but Ive just jumped on the bus this game does has alot of impatient players. I am with you I want a very long msq so I guess its for the better that the potions exist so that we can continue to get a good long story.

And I dont exactly no how I feel about cspf at first glance it can look intimating to new players as it clearly has many parties that dont want new comers, I know you mean msq stuff. But just in general at a glance you would think that its just a feature for the best players in the game to use to connect with each other.

I have a friend who legit quit the game because he hates questing and would rather mindlessly grind and have duties unlocked automatically, instead of having everything gated behind quests.

To be fair, his taste in MMOs is questionable at best (his favorite, before they "ruined" it, was BDO).

Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

It's not that easy....

Some people get annoyed that they have to go through loops just to finish a required dungeon for MSQ to proceed, I used the PF for the 8man Ishgard dungeon with the big dragon on the bridge.. took us 35 minutes to fill up. For people that aren't interested in story and just want to hit 60 asap to play with their friends, this is a very frustrating situation to be in, especially when other games don't force you to complete a dungeon/trial just to continue the story.

I personally love the story and wouldn't mind waiting or going through loops to experience it.. but believe it or not, some people don't care and find this sort of thing just annoying, especially if it's happening every 5-6 quests, everyone is different.

Got a story primal to do? either wait for a long queue or make a PF and hope for the best.
Got a story dungeon that nobody does anymore? wait for long queue or make PF and hope for the best.

the ARR dungeons especially take a very long time to sort out....

Skipping the story via Jump Potion is completely fine, as long it doesn't skip current content (in this case, Stormblood 60-70)

It should be noted that people who jump into this game in particular, FF fan or not, are just not aware of the gating depth that awaits them. To elaborate, most mmorpg players expect a lot of level gating and some story gating. FF14 does this but in reverse and hence why some people can get caught off-guard.

Why is this still even a debate? They're getting added. They already exist.
