Some of the sets were unlocked for the actors in the Ivalice series! Please let us wear them all!!

I'd honestly love a tanktop version like the midlanders have since it looks kind of weird on a male Miqo'te as a half sports bra half skimpy shirt.

Totally support. We can leave race starting sets to be race specific for saving the uniqueness, but underwear is just an undwear.
And while I'm okay with what Male Miqo'te have, I would like to be able to wear Hyur Midlanders version. And considering that Viera and Hroths now share hempen with other races... is there a sense to keep it locked?

I think the rewards from Ishgard Restoration expose how desperate people were to finally get a tank top anyone could wear. At minimum making the top middie men get open to everyone would be awesome!

After reading this thread more, it seems like a Community Representative has said they have forwarded it to the dev team, and that they are “considering” adding it to a future update. That statement bothers me, because it’s been a little over 2 years since that post, and we haven’t had any updates on the matter from Yoshida or the dev team.

I was also reading the previous Live Letter “Ask a Question” threads, and I saw a few people mention Hempen outfits being accessible to all races, and why Viera/Hrothgar are somehow the only exceptions. It seems it wasn’t brought up in the recent Live Letters either. So, that tells me they are dodging the question for some reason. What I want to know is this. Is the reason the Hempen design accessibility questions regarding Viera/Hrothgar are constantly ignored, because Square Enix is planning on surprising us with good news soon? Or because they do not have an answer to this hypocrisy, and choose to not respond whenever it is brought up. It’s just, “racial identity” doesn’t hold up anymore at this point.

Whatever the reason is, fine with me. But not responding to your players when they ask “Why do Viera and Hrothgar have hand me down Hempen designs? Do you plan on making them all accessible for every race to wear?” just seems a bit strange to me. Sorry for the long winded post. It is just admittedly very frustrating.

Would be nice if Luxpheras could update us on the situation.

You're not wrong tbh. Any hair style or outfit which is already shared by more than one race or gender should be wearable by all races and genders because it isn't unique anymore. The same goes for job gear.

I really wish they would hurry up with unlocking the hempen sets. We really need more simple gear, I don't really like how every body piece has big satchels and sashes that make you look like your wearing a half dress or trench coat.

Luxpheras hasn't been employed by Square Enix for about a year, I think. She's a community manager for Epic Games now.

That’s interesting. I had no idea. Wow, well I hope she’s enjoying it at epic games! There’s just one problem though, since she was basically the messenger, we have no messenger now. So I guess we’ll be put in the dark about the whole thing until it’s either brought up again in a Live Letter, or if a different community representative gives us an update. Luxpheras’ post was back in 2017 it seems, so that means they’ve had a little over two years to decide (and possibly implement) this.

If you look at how often the Reps communicate with the Forum, it could take another 2 years, as long as it has nothing to do with the shop...

Geez, that’s kind of depressing to think about. I certainly appreciate Luxpheras taking the effort to actually update us on it before she left, though. Well I mean, how long did it take for FFXIV to see things like the bunny outfit to be gender unlocked? We could probably take an educated guess from previous glamour-related requests.

Well, I’d like to believe that Yoshida and crew have actually been working on implementing this, and the reason it is taking so long, is because they plan on making all Hempen sets not only race unlocked, but gender unlocked too.

The negative side of me thinks they have hardly started on it, if at all, and the whole Viera and Hrothgar Hempen fiasco was a hypocritical mistake they never plan on explaining or resolving.

(I would also like to point out that making these Hempen sets Mogstation only outfits would not go over well at all. I’m fine with it, but there’s thousands of other people out there that would rather not have to spend around $20 or $30 for something that should already be in the game.)

In those threads, they only answer the questions that have the most likes versus answering questions that have been asked repeatedly/frequently or more serious/interesting questions that have less likes.
It's kind of lame system because if you want certain questions answered, you'll have to dig through the thread for them. :B
