To be fair there's a critical difference between something that has passed designated censor boards and unmoderated in-game behavior between players. It's like seeing innuendo in a Disney movie in theatres, versus walking up to a young person of indeterminate age you've never met on the street and trying to talk to them about 18+ topics.

They have every right to apply a different standard to player interaction, if they so wish.

I appreciate the attempt but this isn't even remotely close. Gave me a good chuckle tho

man all of you acting like you can just stroll into "erp" venues and find people "erp"ing have... have never been to these venues, have you? or like... rp venues at all? as someone from bleeding balmung mostly its just people /lean ing on walls and the occasional conversation that may or may not even be in character. the majority of adult-oriented roleplay is done privately.

add an rp tag to party finder and be done with it.
if you want to be serious about reducing 18+ roleplay, just state that venues geared towards or offering 18+ cannot use the party finder function.

dragging roleplayers in a massively multiplayer online ROLE PLAYING game is ridiculous.

This happened to my club manager and several friends of mine.

Also, it seems like a lot of people posting about 'brothels' and such don't really know anything about the RP community.

My thought process is "if you don't want to join that party, then don't. Keep scrolling."

I'm done farming Emerald Weapon, but I don't get mad when I have to skim past multiple Emerald Extreme pf's to find one for Eden Savage.

People are being mad about something that literally doesn't affect them at all.

An easy fix though would be if they'd just add an "RP" tab to the pf. Would help the RP community find each other a lot easier too.

Please consider the following:

• FFXIV, at its core, is a game designed around its social experience. In 'MMORPG', online roleplay is right in the genre. It seems wrong for SE employees to treat players, who are enjoying the game in a way that FFXIV is promoted for, with targeted scorn.

• All aspects of the game should accessible without the use of third-party programs, such as Discord/Twitter/Facebook communities or external forums. The Dev team has affirmed that this is their stance many times through the years. Tools like Party Finder, LS/CWLS, FCs, Fellowships, and Raid Finder have been developed to facilitate accessibility.
• Social applications should not be excluded from the tools that everyone can use, when they exist in an appropriate category like 'Other'. Party Finder is one of the most accessible, relevant formats to find others who want to play the game in the same way as you. This includes RP-oriented gameplay.
• There are no in-game or TOS references that state this application of PF is not allowed. If this usage is not allowed, there is no clear communication of the rule from the Devs.
• It is excessive to place a permanent penalty on a player's account when a quick 2-minute chat from a GM would effectively communicate the rules and address the problem behavior.

• Players should be able to enjoy the game so long as they are not disruptive to others.
• A GM's job should be to facilitate peaceful, non-disruptive gameplay. It's wrong for a GM to push a personal vendetta or bias against a type of player they personally dislike.
• A RP Party Finder is not obstructing anyone's enjoyment or access to content. 'Mild annoyance' or 'Dislike' should not be conflated with 'Obstruction'. If someone is annoyed at a PF, it takes 2 clicks to blacklist and 100% avoid permanently. GM intervention is not necessary.
• A player harassing roleplayers and obstructing their gameplay through abuse of the report system is far more disruptive than advising the player to simply blacklist PFs they do not wish to see. GMs should not be encouraging and rewarding this type of harassment.
• Directing players to /shout and spamming advertisements in cities is far more disruptive to most player's gameplay than a 2 line advertisement, hidden away in an appropriately-categorized PF tab one specifically has to search for to find.

• FFXIV makes visual and textual references to nudity, sex, sex slavery, drugs, alcohol, swear words, murder, and other types of mature content through the MSQ, side quests, and item descriptions.
• Players making FFXIV lore references when roleplaying as a FFXIV character in the FFXIV universe shouldn't be unnecessarily singled out and stigmatized. There is a difference between this, and flagrantly promoting offensive/pornographic content. GMs should have the training to pass judgment with nuance, not free reign to punish any player who offends their own biases.

If we go back to the OP though, we're not even specifically looking at ERP, but people advertising venues and social events for RP. Somebody later suggested of those that were given warnings 3 were NSFW and 2 were SFW. Meaning it's not about the ERP, but people seem to assume it's about the ERP.

Heck, a later screenshot shows a GM suggesting it's fine to use the PF for ERP but to keep the ERP private like in a party.

I think the main confusion is that what the OP highlights doesn't seem to at all be against the ToS and doesn't seem to contradict the stated us of the PF. My thought is it's a GM getting it wrong as it seems to be the same every time rather than official stance. But if it is an official stance, then well, they should define it and I guess there would be a demand for something alternative that works and Fellowship Finder is not a viable alternative.

I think what heavily concerns me is all those shots involve a GM named Wyndallus.

Like, can we not get this guy investigated by the company? I feel like this is clearly him not having a fair look at these himself, and enforcing a rule that doesn't exist. Isn't that power abuse?
